Good Plus

As a long term user, I liked being able to easily switch back and forth from step-by-step usage to forms usage so I could see what was happening and spot potential missing or misplaced information. Instant calculations at the top as entries are made are wonderful. We had a lot of changes this year and was glad to have a thorough program that can handle a business, property rentals, moving, investments, and retirement information with options for how to enter information. The review option for spotting inconsistencies is great. Glad to be able to make changes when needed instead of being locked into initial entries. Like questions that help establish the acceptability of information such as moving expenses.
Would have been an excellent rating, but I did have to go to the internet to learn that removing a "0" in one spot was the solution to information not matching between the federal and state forms for a "W-2 error." (A heads up here would have saved considerable time.)
What's great about it: Numerous options for entering and tracking information - much improved over years. Like PDF return saving option.
What's not so great: Depreciation of room rental in home too easily had multiple entries. Glad for delete form option.
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved

Efficient and Reasonable

This is my 8th year using TTax for prep and filing returns. The product continues to improve so TTax must be listening. A better glossary keyed to specific forms and issues would be helpful.
Automatic insertion of prior year's data is a big plus.
What's great about it: Good value for the money spent and time allocated.Excellent on line and phone support.
What's not so great: Some instructions and error correction language is poorly structured and confusing

Would be nice to have a side-by-side option to review the actual form related to the information requested by the questions being posed.
What's great about it: Easy to follow step-by-step questions.
What's not so great: After viewing "Forms", the "Step-by-Step" symbol to return to the questions is too small; should be larger and colored.

Need to be more User Friendly for Average Person.
The questions are helpful, but would be more helpful if there was a simultaneous picture of where on the IRS form it goes, highlighting the page, section and form number.
We previously had an accountant prepare our tax return for several years and the items that were entered showed up in different locations when doing it through Turbo Tax, so there was a lot of trial and error to "see" if the info would show up in the same location as it had in the past, so there would be consistency and not get flagged an audited.
EG: our home business is a residential contracting business. In the past, the Cost of Good Sold and totals for Materials and Labor were entered on Schedule C, Part III lines 37-40 and NOT in Part II under expenses for Materials and Subcontractors/Labor.
Why are these two options available is anyone's question, but if there was a thumbnail showing and explaining the actual section this would go in #Schedule A, C, etc.# it would be VERY helpful for ALL parts of the process using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Great questions & examples for entering information
What's not so great: Questions are not posed in relation to actual forms

Have used for about 20 years ! It just keeps getting better even though the Tax Code gets more complex.
What's great about it: Simple & intuitive
What's not so great: Would like to purchase on line, but costs more than Shopping Clubs

Great product for ease of use. I receive a K1 form and the home and business version walked me right through all the steps for entering all my tax information. Would recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: Walked me through each step.
What's not so great: Some explanations were unclear and had to go back and redo so it was correct.
