Makes Doing Taxes So Easy!
on April 17, 2016

I have used Turbo Tax for a few years now. I have had a very good experience with the software.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Covers everything
What's not so great: If you have more than one side business, the home office section is a bit redundant.

TTX great up until the end
on April 17, 2016

Seemed fine up until the page where TTX fills in the pin numbers for self and spouse on the "sign your return" page. The help bubble says this is a self-pin. Later, if you e-file, there is again the same pin # window and this help bubble says the number has to be provided ONLY by the IRS. If TTX has already secured this info from the IRS in the first instance, it is not indicated and the info bubble is wrong. If not, then why have it, because according to the second bubble, using the numbers filled in automatically by TTX will result in your return being rejected. Some clarification of this would be helpful.
What's great about it: The walk-thru's cover everything I need
What's not so great: Pin # criteria are confusing

Federal is quite good and fast, AZ State is a little weak with not much expanation, do not think it calculates correctly live in state part of the year.
What's great about it: Fairly Quick
What's not so great: State Returns do not have much help or explanation
Pros: I moved

Turbo Tax
on April 17, 2016
Posted by: nickname7664
I have used Turbo Tax for 6-ish years and have been very pleased with it. It's well-organized and easy to use. This year, however, when it was checking my return, it asked for information that was incredibly technical and which I didn't have a clue how to get. It was something I felt that should have been resolved by the program, rather than by the user. I finally had to call a friend who is an accountant to figure out the information. That should not be the situation. Other than that, I really like Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, well-organized
What's not so great: Couldn't get an answer to one specific question about a form
