Pretty good--a few things could be improved

Intuit continues to make meaningful improvements to TurboTax. It's still one of the best do-it-yourself tools for doing taxes. My biggest beef with the product is that it does a poor job of providing guidance and easy entry of in-kind donations to charities. If I buy food and donate it to a food bank, there is not an easy or clear way for entering those kinds of donations.
What's great about it: Simple walkthroughs of complex forms
What's not so great: In-kind donations not handled well

Pretty Good Product ... with Quicken H&B

As a former CPA I like to do my own returns and save a bunch of money. I can work with this years version of TT fairly easily as I also use Quicken H&B so I can account for our B&B on Schedule C. Easier this year doing Sec 179 expenses. E-filing is a breeze ...beats waiting on line at the Post Office at 11PM on April 15!
What's great about it: Fairly easy to switch back & forth betw Forms & Step by Step.
What's not so great: Usually easy to delete duplicate forms but sometimes hard to find my wrong entries.

My husband and I are Retiree/ Sole Proprietors with multiple income forms and itemized deductions. We could not afford a tax preparation firm, but Turbo Tax has walked us through every step for over 15 years.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Very thorough.

Disappointed

I have very complicated taxes and have to go in and out of different sections multiple times to get everything up to date and correct. There are several points in the program that require me to answer the SAME question every time I go into a certain section. For some reason it doesn't save the answer I gave the last 6 times I went there! Also, the two buttons for "walk me thru step by step" and "I'll do it myself" take me to the exact same screen. I tried to import my PDF tax file from last year and it didn't work because my file "was too big!" I had to start everything from scratch again. I'm very disappointed. I used to love this software and now the price keeps going up and the functionality and ease of use is getting worse.
What's great about it: Easier to use than Tax Cut
What's not so great: Entries for some items required over and over and over.....

What's not so great: Perhaps having a 'previous' page worked on button
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's not so great: Going back to fix areas was unclear as to what area we were in.
