Had some hang ups but they were due to my lack of getting into translating what was needed. Once I got used to the legalese, I was basically ok. The schedule C for my husband being a realtor plus pensions, soc. sec. and cashing an annuity plus my incomes all comes to mean ALOT of detail work! I always dread it, but Turbo tax gets me through it.

Taking taxes from horrible experience to tolerable

As a TurboTax user for about 20 years, it is better every year. Now with the fully integrated downloads, K-1 fully supported for Oil and gas depreciations and complex investment areas fully supported as well as everything you need for a non traditional business. My tax prep and filing are down to about 8-12 hours a year.
What's great about it: Seamless integration and downloads
What's not so great: It is stil taxes
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Mostly Satisified

For the most part I see this as a good product. I do not like the way the state processes. It jumps from imported your federal information to your form is complete. Once it thinks it is complete it is hard to review calculations and details. If I did not have some tax knowledge, I may not have caught an issue on one of my state forms.
What's great about it: Step by Step process, details when needed
What's not so great: When you revist you have to re-enter answers - Don't like state process

It was easy!

What a relief to have them done and knowing next year will be easier.
What's great about it: Appreciated how clear and concise the steps were. Loved all the links to gain more info.
What's not so great: Ads with additional expenses. The process felt long but it was out first time using the program.

We have been using TurboTax for the last 15+years. I really like the walk thru portion, but I normally open the forms view and work from the forms, I feel more familiar with the setup. I like the support details and the easy access for inputting the necessary information.

It is easy to follow and answers all my questions as I go. I mange to fill out my forms in almost the same time it takes me to gather my information for an accountant.
What's great about it: It does all the thinking for me and keeps me working at it until its finished.
What's not so great: Doesn't make me any money though it does save some

Good but not Great

My 2 businesses plus the need for AMT made this a complicated tax year for me. Some of the areas in these sections were not very straight forward and the Help files were of little use to clarify. I still found the process pretty clear and managed to complete a very complicated tax year in less than 4 hours. I run 2 businesses and had a very large capital gain from a former employer being acquired so I had some complicated tax issues. I feel confident that after digging TurboTax helped me pay the least amount possible.
What's great about it: Standard tax areas were very straight forward and easy
What's not so great: More complicated areas not as clear
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
