What's great about it: Liked the ability to switch to actual form and easy step.
What's not so great: Difficult filling in information when I lived in 2 (multiple locations) with different tax consequences. Self Employed
Pros: I moved

I have used turbo tax for the last 6 years. I like the ease of the program, plus the clear explanations. I also like the way the program guides you through the necessary parts of your tax return and looks for ways to save you money.
What's great about it: Doesn't let you miss any thing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

one feature that would be nice....in the review, when an error is identified...be able to link directly to where to go to correct the error....instead of reading the error, and wading thru many screens to find where to correct it
What's great about it: Wonderful..have used for years

tried to use the new markers but didn't seem to work. had to go back through the whole section to get back to portion I'd been working on earlier.
What's great about it: easy to figure out what to do
What's not so great: difficult to maneuver around within program

I have used Turbo Tax for years, and each year it just gets better and better. They help you keep your information safe, the walk through is so detailed, there is no reason to miss one single deduction. I will never use anything else.
What's great about it: The questions are so complete, it makes you look for things that you might have forgotten.
What's not so great: I can't think of one thing that I don't like about Turbo Tax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

First year, but why?!

I have used a different tax preparation software for the past decade. Because I had to switch computer platforms this year, I was unable to use my "tried and true" software. I am so glad I had to make the change! My only frustration is that I did not benefit from TurboTax's ease of use or the confidence that I had completed everything correctly all this time.
What's great about it: Plain, simple English!
What's not so great: Review section needs more explanations/hand-holding (e.g., This information can be found on this line of this form).
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Pretty good experience, but sometimes difficult

I am a tax consultant, so know my way around a tax return, but sometimes I even struggle to figure out what is happening or why. Like the 1099-Q worksheet said I had over $3600 of taxable income from a 529 distribution (but that's only because I never found a place to enter room and board); but the income didn't show up on the "Other Income" line of my tax return, so I just left it. Also, I hate having to re-answer a bunch of questions, like for my Sch. C, if I change one item. The software shouldn't walk you through a bunch of questions that you've already answered unless they are applicable to whatever change you'd made. I also kept getting an error message to fill in the EIN of an untitled 1099-MISC with no income, that didn't show up in my list of 1099s. I finally had to go into Forms View and delete it there. It should have asked me if I just wanted to delete it since there was no other info entered.
What's great about it: thorough, and good help forum
What's not so great: Sometimes cumbersome to move around and figure out how to do something or why something is happening
