It was frustrating because I had to physically look at last years return to find information.

Complicated return made easier

The software was extremely helpful as it walked me through the return and the on-line help was easy to access and provided good answers to my questions. I appreciated the opportunity to talk personally to an expert, who was very helpful in clearing things up for me so I felt assured that my tax return was correct.
I would be happier if the software was easier to navigate, as I found myself lost at times.

Did not provide last year's figures

I've used Turbo Tax for several years, this year, no figures transferred over when I downloaded TurboTax. Was disappointed. This happened to me last year too. Not sure if I'll continue to use in the future.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Took more time to do taxes and make sure I wasn't missing entries.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I had a new ruling for K1 partnerships and had to list each entity separately. It was so easy with turbo tax.

Not as solid as before

I had gotten through my taxes once and when I went back through, I went from owning about $4000 to getting $7 back...found the software had assigned a $13000 deposit in an IRA for my wife and I. When I pulled that out (I had to start all over again) I was back to owing about $4000. This is the first time I've ever had any kind of a glitch. I've been using MacInTax then TurboTax since 1988.
What's great about it: Familiar
What's not so great: A bit unstable; not as sure

Perhaps --- add a recorded voice to provide instructions and answers where questions routinely arise.
