Turbo Tax Home and Business

I've used Turbo Tax software for 8 years and it's been great and easy to use. I love that all of my info from the previous year loads into the current year. This helps speed up my time and helps ensure accurate returns.
What's great about it: Easily walks through every step

Great support from Anna!!!!!!

Everything worked well until time to file returns. Something in Windows 10 did not like TurboTax updates. Finally got with Anna, who worked with me throughout Sunday morning to get this resolved. She is wonderful!!! She got me filed and settled and my tax returns filed.
What's great about it: Ease of running through a confusing tax reporting system
What's not so great: Hard to download updates

After all these years . . . .
on April 17, 2016

I began using Turbo Tax in 1991. I've continued to use it every year because it does the job thoroughly and, generally, with a logic that makes sense to me. Very rarely I have had to make some adjustment from the manner in which TT posed a question and in which I responded. Nearly all the time the problem lay with me rather than with the program. Buy a copy of Turbo Tax and make your life easier.

No Mistakes, Less Headaches

As it is often said, "First time user", liked the program, worked really well. Filing with a much greater comfort level than in years past of doing our taxes myself. Even in the years of having a professional do them....
The additional money, which I would probably have not found, is nice, but more importantly, is knowing that our returns are being filed accurately. Good peace of mind.
What's great about it: Entry of information, accurate calculations.
What's not so great: Haven't come up with any as of yet...maybe there are none...

4797-Make the selling info same as purchase
How much did you sell for
How much was land
Closing costs
Then you can figure out the percentages, and populate line 1, which you currently don't populate (to match with 1099)
Medical - Little confusing since you don't pay your premiums through healthcare.gov
Maybe it should say 'only enter medical expenses that are not included in 1095. Those will be entered later under Health Insurance
Thanks
What's great about it: Schedule E
What's not so great: 4797, Healthcare.gov
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2016 Turbo Tax
on April 17, 2016

Although my taxes are not very difficult to do, and now I find it best to submit using the standard deduction I have always found Turbo Tax an accommodating means to get my taxes done. However, having used it since about 1997, I am seeing that in recent years it can be confusing in the fact that too many shortcuts and explainations seem to be missing or poorly defined. For example, this years version seemed to direct the user to reference their 1095-hc form. I only received a 1095-c form. The steps leading up to this did not seem to explain which blocks I should be using very well, leaving me to guess my way through it. There are several areas that fall into similar catagories. Although I find my taxes to be very basic, no one wants to guess their way through the tax process. Too many steps are left up to the imagination.
Please do not make your product so simple that it becomes toooooo simple. I want a product I can trust, understand, and follow the steps without guessing.
Another example: At the bottom of this form it says a picture is worth a thousand words, upload a picture.....Do you want me to upload a picture of my wife, dog, house, or grandkids? Why would I want to upload an image. Is it so we can become friends or would the image be an example of the problems I am talking about. You did not explain.
What's great about it: Better than doing it manually
What's not so great: As years go by it is getting less explainative causing assumptions to be made
