kept giving error w/ poor explanation of how to solve it. Have to file state taxes later or just mail them

Relatively fast & easy

All in all, I still like the TurboTax Home & Business desktop product. I wanted to try the online version this year but because it would not import my priori year TurboTax File, I would not have that comparison data as a cross check right on the screen. That was a no go for me so I went back to the desktop version.
What's great about it: easy to follow interview, included last year's return info to compare
What's not so great: Doesn't file the CA 568 or LLC filling fee

This should be listed on the label that while you can "do" your state return, TurboTax will charge you to file it.
What's great about it: mostly straightforward
What's not so great: Hit with additional costs at the VERY END of filing taxes...

Making Taxes Easy

TurboTax was fast and easy to use. It found several deductions for me that I normally would not have taken advantage of.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: would like more explanations for ALL steps
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using Turbo tax for many, many years. Overall, I find it great.
What's great about it: Gets better every year.
What's not so great: software was clunky trying to print Va return to file. a 1099 Misc automatically generated a schedule C, when s/b 8919
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Federal was easy, the state was confusing

This was fairly easy. The Federal part was easier than the State. I'm still not sure if I put the correct amounts in for the State. I didn't understand what was being asked.
What's great about it: Just answer the questions
What's not so great: Sometimes you don't have enough information to answer the questions
