Good for basics

Should create walk through for sharing economy.
What's great about it: Great for basic stuff such as tax returns involving only W-2.
What's not so great: Terrible with rental and Airbnb income.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used turbotax since it was called MacInTax. This year it all changed. It is no longer the user-friendly software of the past. I will no longer buy it.
What's not so great: didn't update our info, wouldn't allow free state filing

Way to go - again

This would have been even easier if my big computer had not crashed and destroyed everything. Otherwise, I like the feature that automatically imports needed info from last year's returns.
Fortunately, I had paper copies of all returns. Will be saving this to external hard drive in addition to this computer and paper copies.

I hate doing taxes. TurboTax speeds it up and makes it easier.
It covers lots of topics I might have missed doing it manually.

My 2015 TurboTax review

Sure, the data entry is easy as I expect it to be. Unfortunately, the user experience is marred by frequent jarring halts to ask for more money to represent me or to e-file my state return.
The Back and Next or Continue buttons should be in the same place on the screen for every screen so the user can scroll through each screen quickly when reviewing data that's already been entered.
What's great about it: Easy data entry
What's not so great: Constant requests for more money throughout the entire process

I felt I could do my own taxes even though I own a small business. Anytime I found a problem, I was able to look up an answer easily!
