What's great about it: Generally clear and easy to complete
What's not so great: Difficult to efile federal and mail sate to avoid fee for efiling Illinois return. That option is not presented.

Easy Peasy Refunding

Not perfect, especially on rental sales

While mine might be a corner case it is NOT unusual given the last 10 years of the real estate market. After hours of research and attempting multiple ways to get TT to take the information that was correct, I finally had to resort to "forms" mode and play with numbers to get the correct results. This appears to be an issue that has been mentioned to TT/Intuit for years but they have still not resolved it. I even ran across a help file that states the correct result but does not tell you how to get TT to accept it. Sale of a primary residence converted to a rental. There are two DIFFERENT basis that MUST be used to arrive at the correct result. Should be simple to recognize the situation that applies and ask the right questions. Especially after years of complaints in the forum.
What's great about it: carries last years info forward
What's not so great: doesn't follow what they state in their help and lots of misinformation in forum
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: Continuity from Year to Year, import of last year's info if a great time saver and improves accuracy.

Made an unbearable do-it-yourself job possible

A+++ I would not have been able to do my very complex 95 page tax return on my own. It was only possible for me to do it myself with the TurboTax Home & Business software. Not only did TurboTax save me the cost of an accountant...TurboTax also uncovered several thousand dollars of savings that I would not have found on my own had I done it the old-fashion way using the paper forms and instruction books..
What's great about it: TurboTax got the job done and found savings for me that I would never have found on my own.
What's not so great: Form 3115 was not included with the TurboTax Home & Business
