Turbox is too expensive

quicker than expected

This year I expected to take a day and a half of searching etc, since I'm self employed AND employed part-time for another company. It only took a few hours. Most of the time, when I started to ask myself why, there was a little blue link anticipating my question, offering an answer.
What's great about it: walked me thru everything
What's not so great: I expected a few questions it didn't ask--I hope I'm covered

You should be able to try a form to see if you qualify and then delete the form. It haunts you forever for trying.
What's great about it: Let's you go through it fst, slow , or pick items.
What's not so great: State retun let me inout innovative vehicle even though the explaination said i couldn't. delte the form.

Does a good job

TurboTax has served me well for nearly 20 years, even with challenging and complicated situations.
What's great about it: Maintains info from last year
What's not so great: Didn't tell me i couldn't file electronically till after I paid for state

Has Been Better

Once I entered the basic information, the program did a good job of sorting it out and allocating it to the right forms.
Entering the info is increasingly cumbersome compared to past years. I finally gave up on step-by-step because it didn't always make clear what was being requested. I switched to the forms, entered almost everything, then went back through step-by-step and did a little fine-tuning. Believe it or not, some of the IRS forms do a better job of explaining where to put information than TurboTax does.
What's great about it: Forms "shake hands" well.
What's not so great: Data entry is a pain compared to past years.

No Fear

Tax time historically is such a pain and with todays changes, filing your taxes could easily be an exercise in anxiety and frustration.
Turbo Tax has been our go-to program for many, many years. I am an Accounting Manager for a privately held group of restaurants, with a specialty in payroll.
I recommend Turbo Tax to many of our employees and actually assist some who are filing with Turbo Tax for the first time. They are so surprised with the thoroughness and ease of using Turbo Tax.
Here's to many more satisfied Turbo Tax filers! :)

Great Easy To Use Tax Software

The TurboTax Home and Business software for tax year 2015, like the previous few years, was thorough for small business and personal matters. The software walked me through everything step-by-step, was easy to understand language, had good error checking, easy and quick filing for federal and state. It utilizes information from the TurboTax from the year before to save a bunch of typing. Thanks.
