TURBOTAX 2015 HOME AND BUSINESS

CPA's choice

Just like a mechanic who drives a beat-up pickup or an MD in poor health, I am a CPA who hates doing my own taxes. I had some especially difficult tax issues. this year (kids in college, home sale with mixed use, 2 sole proprietorships, etc., etc.). I can't imagine how much a CPA firm would have charged.
I have used Turbo Tax for many years, and while I don't work at a CPA firm any longer (work for a company), if I ever go back into private practice, I could use the Home and Business version of Turbo Tax for just about any return I would encounter.

Great Product: Gets Better Every year

I love Turbo Tax; I've been using this product for many years now and I will continue to use it next year and the year after.
What's great about it: Preloads last year's info; navigation is excellent; easy to respond to questions
What's not so great: Still takes quite a while to file taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

This was my first time using TurboTax and seemed more difficult to navigate back and forth through forms already used. I appreciated being able to complete the process, including the Healthcare Premium credits. I was not able to do that last year with H&R Block.
What's great about it: Thorough, Easy Filing Process

Found the right place

even though I got lost a couple of times got me right back where I needed to be. My first time using for myself. Have helped a friend for years do her Turbo Tax so was used to most things but I started a small home business and got lost a couple of times but TT got me right back where I needed to be.
What's great about it: goes through everything
What's not so great: first time for me and got lost a couple of time

This is good stuff and beats the alternatives hands down. I feel it is a bit expensive but I also remember you get what you pay for.
What's great about it: Make complex 1099 income fairly easy.
What's not so great: Little Pricey for home/business.
