East to use

I like the ease of being able to enter my information and having you cue me what I need to enter and where. I have used TurboTax for many years and wouldn't use anything else.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Head of Household

My son is 26 and makes of 4 k so doesn't qualify as a dependent. BUT I still pay all the house expenses and his health insurance, electric bills etc. Technically I qualify for head of household but everytime Turbo Tax overrides this and will not let me choose it because he doesn't qualify as a dependent any more. BUT I am still the head of household and qualifty for that according to the IRS rules or instructions.
What's great about it: Takes most of the headache out of doing taxes
What's not so great: Won;t let you choose head of household when you qualify
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not that great.

I am newly self-employed and expected the program to walk me through the process of arriving legitimately at the lowest possible net income -- but it did not!
I was floundering and panicked for two days trying to complete my taxes with the deductions I was entitled to take. The program was very little help in the complex area of depreciation.
It was better than doing it on my own with nothing but IRS tax forms, but did not live up to its advertising.
Why doesn't the program ask if you are self-employed and guide you through Schedule C, as it does for personal income tax deductions? That's where I really needed the help.

best and easiest tax program around

Made the mistake in past years using 2 programs that were not Turbo Tax. I decided from now on, ONLY Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: easy to maneuver through with your choice of step-by-step, or forms you know you need
What's not so great: needs to be easier to delete forms that you might have used by accident

Excellent prompts

Since TurboTax can upload last year's information, it takes very little time to complete the forms. I own a small business and it leads you through all the exemptions that you can take. I used to study the law and use all the exemptions I was allowed, TurboTax does that for you. I cut my TOTAL input time to about 4 hours. Do yourself a favor and use it - you will not regret it.
What's great about it: Great prompts, easy uploading previous information
