Procrastinator Review

I waited until April 15, 2016 to file my taxes for 2015 (Procrastinator). Once I started I went all the way through with only one or two breaks, and it didn't take that long from start to finish.
I started a business last year and Turbo Tax helped with that. It cut across all the red tape. It did not cut the red tape lengthwise (creating twice as much red tape).
I am thankful for that. I've been using Turbo Tax for the past several years and intend to use it again indefinitely.
What's great about it: Fast, cuts through red tape
What's not so great: Didn't include specific section about adding a dependent
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

IP PERA prob's

The program overall is great, but it does have hiccups that leave you scratching your head. Like I received a rejection notice and it says Turbo Tax will walk you through inputting an IP Pin #. Far from the truth, I had to search the issue on my own. It is the same with PERA information. The program needs to have help areas to answer questions when in the program.
What's great about it: Help area helps alot
What's not so great: Program says it will do some thing automaticly, but you have to search to figure it out.

Easy to Use

Have used TurboTax for about 15 years now and it has always been a good/excellent product as far as I can tell. Useful that it gives you a comparison of the prior year and that it transfers whatever data is appropriate. I am handicapped and the less I have to type in the better things are. Also like that it gives you the option of guiding you through everything or you can pick what you want to cover.
What's great about it: Easy to enter data. Easy to use.
What's not so great: Nothing obvious that I didn't like

First time online

This is a great program, and I have been a user for many years. I would make two suggestions.
1) There used to be a 'Guide Me' section if you wanted to adjust quarterly payments. This years version only plugs in what this years' taxes are and divides by 4. The older version of TTax was easier to work with.
2) This was the first year that I went on line to work with TTax, not buying a disc and downloading it to my Mac. I did what most first time users would do and began inputing my data into the 'free' version expecting to pay at the end. I didn't realize until I was well into doing my taxes that you don't have the 'forms' function in the free version, that you have to use the bought version first. The customer service folks were helpful in letting me purchase the full version, but there was no way to transfer the data already inputted from the free version. Not very user friendly when buying the version outright. Either warn the 'free' user that the forms function is not part of the experience or at least let those buying outright, transfer the data.

What's not so great: Its confusing to start in the 'free' version as there is no forms function.

My husband and I each have our own business and I've used Turbo Tax for years. When our tax prep fee reached $450, we said, "Enough!" I love the way you can jump to where you want to be without having to sit through too terribly many questions. I like the ability to "play" with numbers to check out your options in areas like investing in an IRA or figuring out your estimated taxes. I've only had one time in the last few years where I needed to chat with someone about a question I couldn't find the answer to with the software. Thanks, Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Love the way it pulls all your information from prior years!
What's not so great: It'd be nice to know it will cost $ to efile your state before you go to the trouble of getting a PIN.

Got it Done!

I am a repeat user, Has helped me through very complex returns during my working years. I see improvements year over year.
What's great about it: Incredibly easy to manage a super complex task
What's not so great: Not cheap

Tedious but so are taxes

What's great about it: relatively easy to use program, best feature is that it loads info from previous year
What's not so great: Sometimes it is a little difficult to envision what the return looks like as you go.

Great software that works hard to minimize taxes

I have used TurboTax for years. Although I am a CPA, I don't have a lot of time to work on my own taxes. TurboTax minimized my preparation time and helps me make sure I am taking advantage of all deductions and credits available to me.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and intuitive
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
