So Simple!

Using the Home and Business version makes it so easy to prepare tax returns for both personal and business at the same time. The combination of good bookkeeping and TurboTax makes this dreaded task to be a stress free exercise. Thanks TurboTax. Almost looking forward to next year!
What's great about it: My husband and I didn't argue once in preparation. A good experience
What's not so great: Our computer would not download the CD, BUT TaxTurbo support staff did super job getting the program on our computer.

after 14yrs this year was a terrible experience

I spent over 6 hours doing a very simple return with what could have been a schedule C short form. Then had to delete it and redo in download version. Then it didn't upload prior year state return.
I have used TurboTax since before 2004. I have always rated it highest. Now there are so many extra product loopholes it is becoming a nightmare.
I had to quit my business and moved to take care of my terminally ill mother and I really don't have the extra hours to waste jumping through unnecessary hoops.
What's great about it: easy to navigate
What's not so great: last yr free file worked with sch c, this year it didn't
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Way more that I expected

I had a compicated, multi-state three income return. Turbo tax walked me through the process step by step and saved me a lot of money! Had I payed someone to do my return, I would have payed much more and I believe things would have been missed. I know best how to answer each personal question and if I had a question, the reference links were able to answer them. Thank you Turbo Tax!

Turbo Tax Great!

with the pension, it was not something I could move around, take out or whatever. It was my County pension and it's just there. I had to try a couple answers to figure it out. At first, it said I would pay no taxes and I knew that was wrong. Turbo Tax needs to fix this.
What's great about it: I like everything about it almost
What's not so great: Regarding my Pension, it was consusing

Solid tax software that reliably finds deductions

This Year:
The new options for home office deductions should have been covered at the beginning in the Home & Business edition. Because I was blind-sided by it, it wasted a lot of my time in having to go repeatedly to the help options; a rabbit hole I am never pleased to dive into.

Loss carry-forwards should transfer to the current year, automatically. Better yet, a declarative statement that they do or do not apply to the return being worked on.
The choice to have the audit protection and other fees taken from the refund sounded good, until I read the terms of service agreement. They reveal this option to be a huge security and privacy violation, with an extra handling fee to boot. After refusing to accept that, a lot more of my time was wasted getting the credit cards entered.
Please, pay more attention to the time it takes your clients to get the job done when using your software.
While I have a love/hate relationship with the software due to the needless wasting of my time, I do not trust any other software to accurately file my taxes or find so many deductions as Intuit products.
What's great about it: Familiar interface year-to-year; always finds hidden deductions
What's not so great: I always go back and forth, correcting myriad entries to get it right
