I have used Turbo Tax for abut 10 years now. Always find it easy to use and file my taxes. I have a Small Home Business and it makes life easier knowing that I have all my information entered. Hopefully correctly. This is the first year that I have had a problem with the program. Had to call for help and finally ended up removing the program and re-downloading it from online. Thank goodness I didn't wait until the last minute!!
What's great about it: Easy to use!
What's not so great: Trouble with CD this year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I don't know what we would do without Turbo Tax. Previous paid tax preparers made careless mistakes. We paid them so much more than Turbo Tax costs.
What's great about it: My mind turns to mush when having to read the tax guides. This is the only way I could do taxes - Q & A!!!

Needs Some Work

I use the Home and Business version and I've noticed there are some issues with the interface with Quicken. You shouldn't have to have Quicken open on your desktop to import the files. The program should be able to just go out, grab the Quicken database file and read the data. Having to open up Quicken and leave it open on the desktop (rather than minimizing) is an inefficient way to transfer files. It shouldn't matter whether Quicken is open, minimized or closed to import the files.
Another issue is with the capital gains and investments area. For instance, the program assumes if you received a K-1 for an investment last year that you got one again this year. It does not give you any way to delete things if they have changed from one year to the next. It should ask you first if you received a K-1, and if not, maybe ask if you sold the investment that generated it the prior year. I had issues getting past this point, as it just kept taking me back to that section to enter data.
Finally, when you enter short-term gains, if you need additional lines, you can't go to another page of short term gains. You have to shift to the long-term gains first and then go back. Taking this data off a 1099, that means flipping back and forth on the pages. You should be able to continue through all the short-term gains before going to the long-term ones, i.e. all of Box A before beginning Box D.
That being said, the program makes filing a lot faster than doing it by hand. I was able to use the W-2 import functions for the first time as you added additional sources vs. only ADP data.
What's great about it: Importing Data
What's not so great: Data Importing from Quicken needs work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
