Easy to Complete

Overall I love Turbotax and have been using it for several years. I love how it automatically imports data from the previous year for you (if you keep using TurboTax). Most special issues we have are easily handled by Turbotax. The only problem was that it didn't make it easy to find where to enter our assigned IP number (due to fraudulent activity the prior year) - who knew it wouldn't be at the end when you enter the e-filing pin number!! Fortunately I googled it before I submitted it electronically (it is an option in the personal information section).
What's great about it: clear questions and places to enter information
What's not so great: not clear where to enter IP number from IRS
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax Works for Me!

I am not experienced with tax preparation, but for more than 10 years, I have used Turbo Tax effectively. I am very pleased with the independence that I get from preparing my own income taxes. Thank you.
What's great about it: Easy to use; ask questions that helps!

Guided Aspects Have Room for Improvement

When needing to make a change, it was difficult to go to the part of the "guided" interaction. It didn't remember all checkboxes, etc. so also can't just click through to get to the desired part. (E.g., try to determine how much to put into Traditional vs Roth IRA and then go back and enter actuals.) Also wasn't very friendly about e-filing the Federal and mailing the State, perhaps to generate more $ via e-file fees.
What's great about it: Performs calculations automatically
What's not so great: Difficult to navigate; Pushes using e-file for state return

Another Satisfying Year

Want more control over your taxes? TurboTax offers that. Because no one will try to make sure you receive all that you're legally due as well as you will. I've used this product for 15 years, and every year, I return.
What's great about it: Total control
