Saves the cost of a CPA

I have used TurboTax for many years for my home and business. I love the confidence I feel when I enter my data into the program and know that it will be handled right. I use to pay for a CPA, but feel I get the same results and also I can see what helps or hurts my return. I will be back next year and for years to come.
What's great about it: Step by Step logical data entry
What's not so great: N/A

Software is still great, online product ain't

TurboTax Online was a terrible experience - no access to the forms, opaque processes, mysterious branches, and puzzlingly priced $50 more than the software. Thankfully there's a good migration path to the software--took me about a half hour to port everything over, and I resolved all my issues in minutes.
What's great about it: Smooth, anticipates most problems
What's not so great: Student filing instructions weren't complete

TurboTax has made preparation and filing of taxes a virtual breeze compared to the days on end it used to take me to assemble and marshal all the necessary information,
What's not so great: Difficulty in moving around from screen to screen, when you need to go back and revise something or add something

Submitted with confidence!

The hints and live support were definitely helpful. The audit protection also provided some peace of mind. Thrilled to have spent much less money completing my taxes this year than the prior year. The live refund or payment calculator makes it more interactive.
I wish there was a way to share my screen with the live support while using the at home CD based software rather than only through the online software. The software informed me I had to print and send in my state return, but it didn't leave me with any action points to feel confident about my next steps. Also, I was left wondering if there were supporting documents that I should probably upload or if everything was captured based on the answers I gave.
What's great about it: Lots of helpful hints and tips. Ability to speak with live professional was also helpful.
What's not so great: Some items weren't clear
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I did not think I could do my taxes on my own , I couldn't believe how user friendly the program was. I will be doing this again next year for sure, I don't know why I have been giving my hard earned tax dollars to those other big name companies!!!
What's great about it: So easy to use, love all the pop ups to help you in the right direction!

program loops excessive security

Some of the business categories seem to overlap, causing one to go back and move information around. It would be helpful to outline in the itemized deduction section, BEFORE the tax return is even started what they will ask for and where it will go. This also applies to the information from previous returns. It seems Turbo Tax is getting more cumbersome on the back end when filing, specifically when it gets to payments for filing. I tried three different cards (all good) before I could pay with a visa card.
What's great about it: done quickly and efficiently
What's not so great: Business deduction section needs work
