Very Good

My State of Utah(Full Time Resident) becomes a second State when I have to file in New York with a K-1(PAY NO TAXES) and I end up paying to send Utah as an e-file. It makes NY as number 1 State. WHY??

As long as my tax situation is not to complex then I use Turbo Tax. This year it was simple in that it included just a small business, 401K, house purchase, ordinary income, and Social Security income. Turbo Tax handled all of this with ease.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and straight forward

Two issues: issues on K-1 info and need for a link to a form 1116 which never was asked in the step by step and never automatically done by Turbo Tax.SHould have been automatic.
It was not clear that entering data in the "error "review did not fix the problem. It was only by accident I found the location in going to FORMs where each was flagged with a reason and a location to fix. This took a few days to resolve. Easy fixes once I knew what to do

What's great about it: Covers the majority of a return and keeps things simple
What's not so great: Needs improvement in K-1 transfer of information. Numerous error were identified for issues I was never asked about.

The only way to go

The tax "rules" change so frequently that it's impossible for a CPA to keep up, much less a simple, even halfway intelligent person. Because I have to put together all the numbers anyway, It makes more sense for me to plug them into a TT program than to pay someone else to do it. TT allows me to do that. Thank you.
What's great about it: I'm a senior citizen; TT makes doing taxes so easy although I still have someone look over my shoulder as I do it.
What's not so great: None that I can think of except the government knows so much about me, why don't they just send me a bill?

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 16 years. I am very comfortable with Turbo Tax.

Overall this is a great product and I would definitely recommend it. Saves me money every year. I bought the premier version which I would definitely recommend if you have rental property income or small business income. Definitely worth every penny.
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks you through all details of return to get the most refunds possible
What's not so great: Sometimes the city returns are inaccurate, this year was okay. In the past I have had to do them manually by hand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
