I have been using Turbo Tax for many years with no negative issues. My wife and I have several sources of income and the program makes reporting very simple. The program always works and the navigation makes sense. Thank you TurboTax!
What's great about it: Detail for small business and loading previous years info
What's not so great: Non really, After several years, I've learned how to navigate
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

If you support more than one business with a vehicle it is confusing on how to share costs. Overall a very good program that I have used for many years.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Imported Investment data sometimes generates questions that are difficult to answer because source is not referenced

Not happy about Turbo Tax

I have stuck with the TurboTax, so I have to use it year by year. TurboTax is a very useful tool and I appreciate what it has done for me. I have two major complaints this year: 1. The title list (or table of content) of the step-by-step interview is shortened and not as detailed as those in the previous years. For example, I couldn't find the title of Retirement Savings (IRA contributions) in the list, so I could jump to this category; rather I needed to go back somewhere in the interview process under the title of Deduction to get to the step of IRA contribution.
2. After I selected Standard Deduction, the interview was still asking me many questions about deductions, which were not clear to me which ones would affect my Adjusted Gross Income and which ones would not. For example, it took me over two hours to answer all the questions on property tax, license plate fees, charity deductions, subscriptions of professional magazines, etc. for deductions, but in the end it appeared none of these amounts actually affected my adjusted gross income. Therefore, I would suggest that the interview should skip those itemized deductions when the standard deduction button is clicked. Also for those questions on the deductions intended for Schedule A, each of them should clearly indicate that the deductions are only included in the itemized deductions. During the interview process, it is difficult for the user to track which are for meant for itemized deductions and which ones are not.
What's great about it: Do all the work for me
What's not so great: Still many confusing places

10th Year using Home & Business
on April 11, 2016

Home & Business has provided an easier way to file taxes than to research all the different tax areas we have had these last 10 years. Some areas would be easier if there was more flexibility. The 1065 Schedule K-1 input has become easier, but could still improve. Capital Gains/Losses also improved this year. Charging for e-filing a Tennessee state tax return since I prefer having a TurboTax CD vs a downloaded copy is very disappointing. This should be pointed out before a person chooses e-file. I had to go back and switch to a mailed TN filing.
What's great about it: Overall good tax software and easy to use.
What's not so great: 1065 Schedule K-1 Input needs to improve.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Harder to use and more expensive

The 2015 Home and Business version is harder to use and more confusing than in years past. For me, TurboTax has pried itself out of the tax software market. There are better software packages available at substantially better prices. After two decades of TurboTax usage, the 2014 and 2015 versions have convinced me to go with a better program next year.
What's great about it: Fairly thorough
What's not so great: Harder to use than earlier versions
