I've used TurboTax for several years. I really appreciate the way TurboTax picks up last years info and also has the ability to access W-2's online. The whole experience is much more time efficient and convenient.
What's great about it: Fast, intuitive
What's not so great: State form said I needed to send in a signature page but the page said not sent it unless I claimed a disability credit

Getting help to questions was difficult. I would really like to have a phone number or an on-line expert chat service available to answer questions.
Some of the questions were still confusing.
I found using Turbo Tax was not as easy as you make it sound on your ads & find it rather tedious & complicated.
I did like how it saved all you work as you went along & allowed you to go back, review, & edit any corrections.
I did like the convenience of doing it from home & being able to work on it, stop & do something else for a while, then come back to it.
What's great about it: Step by Step & liked how you could go back & make changes
What's not so great: Still found it complicated & some of the language confusing.

Not the effective tax rate

please eliminate the misleading "Effective tax rate". This does not include FICA, Medicare, property, county,local, sales, excise taxes and other hidden taxes. This figure misleads the public into thinking we pay as little as the "effective tax rate" and contributes to the inexorable increase in taxes each year.

What's great about it: Easy to navigate, gives me confidence in a scary nasty process that we dread each year.
What's not so great: Sometimes I don't fully understand why the dollar amounts go up and down the way they do.

Not sure why a Schedule K keeps coming up and my husband is no longer partner in that business. No explanation how to stop this reference to an old company. No one page check list of what I information I need to enter easily all the areas. Income, deductions, business.
What's great about it: Transfer last year data and walk through process
What's not so great: A bit confused at times by some of the questions
