Thought the e-file for my state was too high but agent's help on my mistakes made it seem like a bargain!
What's great about it: Software was great and agent kept helping me backtrack on mistakes I had made

A Guided Trip is a Wonderful Experience

There is no way I would attempt to take a trip through the IRS tax forms I am qualified to use and file without the guidance and leading through that Turbo Tax offers.
I do have to collect information prior to starting, but that I can do!
I appreciate the detail and logical sequence of inputting my information.

What's great about it: Lend me through forms I had no idea I needed
What's not so great: My inexperience in answering questions meant I had to back up a couple times because items didn't apply

Self Employed Home & Business - Done!

I have used an accountant in the past for my business and personal taxes. Trying to get the information together for the professional was more confusing and harder to do than walking thru Turbo Tax Home & Business. The program was clearer and explained questions much better than the professional and I was done once I had gathered the info and put it in the program. Much cheaper that the professional also. Plus, the professional made mistakes and had to file an amended return. I have used Turbo Tax now for 17 years and really like using it.
What's great about it: Very clear instructions and easy to understand and file.
What's not so great: I don't like paying taxes.

Only one hangup

Past years has been easier and more direct than this year. Had difficulty finding an entry when checking my state return. Had to go over my federal again after I thought I was all finished.. Very frustrating. Would like a direct answer to a Question while checking state return like where can I find a reason for a refund when I did not have one coming.

Schedule C is unacceptably clunky

Despite having used TurboTax since the mid 1980s, I will think long and hard about using it again next year. The prices continue to increase and the program has need of serious improvement. I am a CPA with 20+ years of tax preparation.
What's great about it: Familiar
What's not so great: Entering business results into schedule C step-by-step or directly to the form is very frustrating.

Didn't Import Enough from Prior returns

I had several parts of the State (CA) return that Turbo Tax said I had to correct. In fact the information was on my prior returns (such as date the LLCs were formed) that should have imported over. There were others also.
