Overall I love Turbotax. Only one issue.

What's great about it: Quick and easy.
What's not so great: TT did not handle my royalty income correctly. I had to manually correct in the form itslef.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax and 1099

Same 1099 - entered twice; really messed up my return - I had to backtrack to correct the mistake.
The PIN assigned to me via IRS letter was 6-digit - did not fit on the E-File form - the E-File PIN I received from the IRS website when I attempted to retreve my 2015 PIN was from 2014.

Accurate Tax Filing Without Fail!

First and foremost, I support the tax and accounting profession. However, you are your best tax advocate. Turbo Tax allows you to take charge for your tax-filing requirements and makes you accountable for reporting accurate information. Turbo Tax is a great tool to use to successfully file your taxes.
What's great about it: Intuit stays abreast of the complexing and ever-changing tax laws

FIST TIME DISAPPOITMENT

This time, I'm disappointed. i have used TT for more thann 15 years, and this year it was a pain.
After inputting all information, even though I had updated since I installed the software several times, I had to do it again before it would allow me to e-fiie. After I allowed the software updates, my entire tax return changed so that now, I owed money rather than getting the refund I expected. The problem is that the program did not indicate or direct me to the changes - which were significant, which in turn forced me to manually review and edit it AGAIN - I have spent more than the estimated time on this return and I am annoyed!
Further more - the State return requires manual downloads and completion of forms that are not available through the TT software ... this is a huge discrepancy and detriment to my continued used of this product.
What's great about it: guidance and helpful tips is pretty good
What's not so great: alot of mundane for the experienced user

One improvement that can be made is to be able to compute the estimated tax payments for 2016 for Federal taxes by estimating income for 2016. The state Estimated Taxes provides an opportunity to provide estimate revenues for 2016 in order to compute the Estimated State Tax payments. No such opportunity is provided for Federal Taxes

Have always used this program.

I generally like this software and have recommended it to many people.
The only time it seems to trip me up is when I need top navigate to a some areas when the return is almost complete.
What's great about it: Very organized.
What's not so great: Navigation can be tricky during reviews.
