Eventhough I am used to how TurboTax works, the shortcuts and cons that I have found in TurboTax will result in me considering other software.
What's great about it: Used to how TurboTax works, so makes it easier to use each year.
What's not so great: All data does not transfer from another year & Filing Mailing Instructions for Federal is not prepared

GREAT.... except for CT Motor Vehicle Tax on FED

Two things.... first, wish it would right at start have a check-box where I just say "I'll enter info manually" instead of constantly asking if I want to download from QwikBooks, Bank, employer, etc. ---- Plus.... on FEDERAL return -- for PROPERTY TAXES -- they should ask "Did you pay any "MOTOR VEHICLE PROPERTY TAX" to any towns/cities in CONNECTICUT? Very confusing if you are a 1st-time user. Someone like me who has done this previous years knows to make sure this info eventually gets entered, but it should not be left for the info to get entered in the state return.

Almost no problems

TT needs to fix the Home Office Expense loop lest it drive a person mad. It never happened to me before, but the fix I found was 2 years old! Also needed is to provide for retirement in the middle of a year for such as vehicle expense for job. Finally, by accident I happened onto "forms" to "fix" omissions. An easy link should be provided, or instruction. ... Otherwise, thanks to TurboTax once again. It's a bargain. Art
What's great about it: Saved me days of figuring out forms
What's not so great: Home Office Expense caught in a loop. A 2-yr old online fix posting straightened it out.

it gets easier

I have always found k-1's with foreign income difficult. I generally get less than 20 dollars, but it used to be a maze to get things done correctly. This year a snap. My biggest worry taken care of.
What's great about it: handling of k-1's and foreign income worksheet
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2015 Turbo Tax Home and Business

Using 2015 Home and Business is fairly straight forward for most tax entries and has improved over the years. However, following the Turbo Tax steps through the sale or trade-in of autos used for business is too confusing.
When using the program, I wish it were easier to "go back" to prior sections and return to where leaving off, without having to go through all sections already completed.
Overall, Home and Business is a good program and the price for Turbo Tax Home & Business is a good value.
What's great about it: Handles small business tax situations
What's not so great: Autos used for business sales, trade-in: instructions not clear enough
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

great refund

It was a pain having not having access to the our previous Turbo tax refunds through 2014. You tech support person was kind but there was some kind of glitch that ? took place when my old computer info was inserted into my new one. SURE would be helpful if you could perform a miracle and fix it so all old info will be able to be retrieved for comparison without having to reenter it all again. VERY Disappointing!
What's great about it: Able to complete at home
What's not so great: Could not access my 2014 or earlier tax information! Had to manually input all info and had to refer to PDF for 2014 inf
