Some good changes, some not so good
on April 8, 2016

I've used Turbo Tax since 1984 with no real problems. No real problems this year. The instructions are clear and thorough. I was able to do our taxes in a half-day, including a business and a farm. The only issue this year was failure to transfer all business and farm data from 2014. Otherwise, good job, as always.
What's great about it: Easy to use, as always. Clear instructions and help available as needed.
What's not so great: Didn't transfer everything from 2014.

Overall it s a solid way for you to file your taxes for yourself.
What's great about it: if previously filed with TurboTax it is helpful and lessens the input
What's not so great: Tedious process and sometimes cumbersome

Caught what I missed!
on April 8, 2016

Approach for filling out your information is good and generally helps to catch stuff one may overlook. This is complemented by a good return review for errors in the forms, which this year showed me that I had missed some expenses that I normally fill out for one of our supplementary income sources. This is a benefit of using TurboTax from one year to the next since it uses some of the categories and asks questions about stuff you did the previous year -- a big advantage this year that saved considerable tax money.
What's great about it: Great review process

As "good" as tax filing will ever get
What's great about it: TTax makes doing this annual chore much less frightful. I had to call in for support and Julie solved my problem.
What's not so great: I will always want more information on how to enter investment info/retirement accts
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Rocked a Rediculous Refund!
on April 8, 2016
Posted by: Maricsm1
Every year I help my children with their refunds (5 kids). By the time I got to my refund, I could not efile it, so I had to print it out and mail it. Just one more efile allocation would be great!
But when it came time to figure out a Section 179 on a new business vehicle, replacing a prior vehicle, Turbo Tax was very helpful.
What's great about it: Helped through Section 179
What's not so great: Could only do 5 returns by efile

not what it used to be
on April 8, 2016

TurboTax has become less intuitive and less user friendly. Very hard to find which document is the source document for individual lines. Very poor instruction of where deduction are to go and no explanation of the benefits of including expenses on a Schedule C or other possible options. For instance, it is very easy to double count insurance premiums on a Schedule A if you are self-employed. I no longer trust TurboTax's accuracy.
What's great about it: not much
What's not so great: data does not reliably flow from Federal return to State return
