More difficult this year

I was disappointed in TT this year. I've used it for a very long time and I've always found it excellent: easy to use, accurate, helpful. Not so much this year. It hung up several times, the instructions were more obtuse, and it was very difficult to find ways to undo information I'd entered that was incorrect. I'll keep using it, of course, but I am disappointed. It's always been so elegantly seamless. I always thought the government should've hired Intuit to re-do the Affordable Care Act portals they had such trouble with, that many years ago.
What's great about it: Guidance in Help is good
What's not so great: Hangs up more than in years past

Think the programmers aren't as good as they have been in the past. They need to look at the total program from a customers point of view nowt as a programmers. It could be better - not as good as in the past years.
What's great about it: good software
What's not so great: Very confusing when you want to go back & forth between forms and step by step

More Than Satisfied

Have used TurboTax in the past, but recently had a preparer do my taxes. Wanted to get back to doing my own preparation and was happy to find that TurboTax is more user/preparer friendly than I remembered.

What's great about it: Most of the software worked very well including the uplads.
What's not so great: If you hit on S Corporation for reveiw it requires entry of an S Corporation even if you don't have one. TT needs to fix

I will certainly continue to use TurboTax! Will also recommend to friends and family.
If you get it all together, just sit down and enter. The best part is they point out the issues and help you fix them, by telling you what you need.
What's great about it: Fairly straight forward.
What's not so great: Had issues with the home business questions.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Gets easier every year!

I have been using Turbotax for over 10 years and have never had an issue with IRS. Used an accountant prior to Turbotax and found I was paying more in taxes in addition to his fee. Compared his results with Turbotax for 2 years before I switched for filing. Glad I did as the software is a lot cheaper and there is no difference in the amount of record keeping. Highly recommend it for small businesses and individuals.
What's great about it: Great instructions for guidance through each step.
What's not so great: Charges added during filing are getting a bit much.
