Makes doing taxes easy

What's great about it: Like being able to switch between interview and forms. Review and error check is great.
What's not so great: Description of why cost basis changed for 8606 form did not transfer. Had to go to forms to enter it.

In general, this is a much needed and appreciated tool, that gets better every year!
Couple of problems: It seems to be redundant particularly when you work in more than one state. Expenses for State 1, for instance, show up in your general (or personal) data), therefore one is not sure to re-enter separate data for State 2, or simply to combine data for both sites.
This lead me to enter and re-enter then delate data only to re-do the entire data to assure nothing will be missed.
Perhaps this could be avoided if you state it is for a specific State, and you could insert a reminder, to begin the second (or other additional) State data.

In depht tax questionaire

Turbo tax is an easy comprehensive tax program that seems to systematically go through all relevant tax code sections. I particularly like the data import facility and the tax due/refund tracking box while entering all required income and expenses data.
What's great about it: Can handle my somewhat complex tax filing
What's not so great: Wish the tax audit protection was included in the purchase price and not charged as extra
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I prefer doing my return myself after having a CPA complete it and ended up with an audit.
What's great about it: I know it is correct.
What's not so great: Took a little longer than I would like.
