Turbo Tax Does It Again!

I've used Turbo Tax and find it asks the same questions the taxman used to ask. I'd go back to a Tax Preparer if my tax filings become more complicated again. Otherwise, there is no need to do anything different than use Turbo Tax.

Can't help to question the integrity of TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax for more than five years now. I still feel nervous about filing, since I am not sure everything was done correctly. It seems it is doing a lot of assumptions, and that is what is making me uncomfortable.
The flow changes at the end part when I have to pay for state filing. There I see a lot repetitive filling the blanks and consenting that payment has to be made, etc. Turns out, it is all about making money.
What's great about it: Somewhat straight forward
What's not so great: Not sure if I missed something

even with complicated return, with the help they gave it was wonderful and they were so helpful. have been using turbo tax for 12 years, wouldn't use any other.

Any assistance that Turbo Tax could give to filers that would remind them that their employer is running a high risk by not treating its workers as defacto employees in order to avoid ACA and paying their half of employment tax, not to mention the potential for unemployment compensation.. would hopefully make both employee and employer more aware of the costs/benefits associated with purchasing software to do a schedule C or C-EZ and the opportunity cost of taking employment elsewhere, for the benefits of full employment. Instead the hassle of filing as an independent contractor, is being perpetuated. I know that this is not your problem, but If you were more proactive with answering this question in your marketing and in the way the intial questions are posed, it would be a great public service endorsement tht TurboTax/Intuit could use to its benefit.
It was another great investment in Tax Prep Software thru Intuit!
What's great about it: Effective and Efficient
What's not so great: The line is too blurry between a W-2 employee and a 1099-Misc (independent contractor)

Got over the bumps and finished

Wanted to go back and revise 2015 return before filing, but couldn't get back. Seemed caught in a loop. Requested help, got an on line reference to a phone number. Called and got personal help in about 4-5 min. Revised and filed!!
What's great about it: On line and personal help was great
What's not so great: None

FRUSTRATED

I have used TT forever and the one problem that consistiently happens is trying to undo somethiing done wrong after it's been saved. This is my 1st time to do a 1099 and I put my ssn instead of my name and now it shows everytime I open prgm and I can't figure out how to go back and change it......VERY FRUSTRATING!!! This is just about the 1099 info. I haven't started the rest of my return. (This is another confusing element....wording does not make it clear if you are evaluating the whole pgm or just the w-2 part.)
What's great about it: glad the 1099 info was available
What's not so great: when not doing it to send by 2/29, directions were confusing

Turbo Tax Rocks

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and it has helped immensely with my taxes. I have several small businesses to deal with and this guides me through the situations that I may have missed on my own.
