Great Service!

The process is as easy as they can make it. They walk you through everything you need to do and have answers to anticipated questions. If I couldn't find an answer in the software, I found almost everything I needed on the TurboTax website forum. When I didn't find an answer there, I called a number provided and got an ACTUAL person on the phone who patiently answered all my questions. Excellent service!
What's great about it: Great customer service, simple process walks you through everything.

Every year it gets easier with Turbo Tax

I am happy to say I only spent a couple of days completing our taxes. We have a business plus a vacation rental. I started out with the online version but discovered that because I missed the deadline for the required minimum withdrawal from an IRA account, we had to pay a penalty. I would need a 5329 form that did not show up in the online version. I contacted support and I was pleased to know that I could still download a version of Turbo Tax to my desktop and quickly import all my information I had entered online. With the desktop version, I was able to switch back and forth between the step by step option and the forms option.
Next year I hope I remember to purchase the desktop version of Turbo Tax and also to withdraw my RMD before the December 31st deadline. That was a costly error - 50% of the required withdrawal! I have learned a lot of lessons filing our own taxes, some of them expensive ones. But with Turbo Tax, I have grown more confident each year. We have never had an audit. I credit that to my personal honesty and Turbo Tax leading me through all the ins and outs of income tax filing.

What's great about it: Easily switched from online version to desktop version
What's not so great: Started with online version - my fault - if you need access to the forms you need a downloadable PC version.

RGK Review of Turbo Tax for Home & Business 2015

All in all turbo tax has improved greatly with better explanations, better organization, and clearer questions. Used TurboTax in late March found a problem where the name of companies for Dividends from last year showed but did not transfer to the next form when I clicked the Edit button this worked correctly for Interest. I reported the problem on the phone to Turbo Tax and after two bad calls talked to a person who understood and the problem was fixed in two days.
What's great about it: Easier than min the past referred less to helps and explanations
What's not so great: Problem - name of financial companies for dividends not transfered

glitch!

Turbo Tax would not automatically give the public safety officer health insurance benefit. I had to override it in order to get it. Other than that I have used turbo tax for years. Also I do not like that I have to buy the more expensive software when I had it all included in the premier version before.
What's great about it: all was good except for glitch

Sole proprietorship simplified

Owning a farm/ranch is complicated. Add a sole proprietorship and the complications explode! Turbo Tax for business helped sort out the business expenses and income issues we were having. Simple questions. Easy to follow. I recommend to all small farm/ranch do-it-yourselfers.
What's great about it: Helped define a sole proprietorship in a farm
What's not so great: differences between businesses and farms still gets me confused
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
