Learning Process

There was a bit of a learning curve using the program. It seems like I spent as much time learning how to use the program as I did entering the tax info. But then again I know taxes can get complicated.
What's great about it: I liked saving money on tax prep.
What's not so great: There was a bit of a learning curve using the program.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Mostly good

1. For many years, I used to be able to do my simple Sch B, C, & D with Ttax Deluxe, but now my understanding is that I need "Home & Business" -- same usage costs twice as much.
2. I know that there are frequent updates, but it was a nuisance to have to wait 5-10 minutes for updates and re-launch almost every day I used it. I'd have preferred to work without every update, and just check for updates when I first use the product and a few weeks later when I'm finishing with it.
3. Ttax has been great for me for > 20 years, but if my Sch C & D can't be done without a higher-priced Home & Business edition next year, I'll keep my eyes open for other options.
What's great about it: Great for downloading info from financial institution
What's not so great: Cost increase, updates take too long
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The price of electronically filing one state tax should be included with the purchase of the software.
What's great about it: Did well on Federal Taxes

Turbo Tax review

I've always liked using Turbo Tax because its very easy to use and the HELP is really helpful. My only sort of complaint is that 2 years required getting accountant help. They completed our taxes for us and e-filed, but this year our taxes were not so complicated and we used Turbo Tax so it could not help with previous year info. I don't know how this could be fixed, but if your taxes are e-filed maybe TT can figure out a way to access the previous year's info???
What's great about it: I like that I can enter info and TT enters info automatically.
What's not so great: If you don't use TT one year there's no way to recover info.

Always a winner!

I've been using TurboTax for over 5 years and have always found it to be helpful and friendly for the casual user. With my small business (single-member LLC) the Home and Business Edition has worked perfectly for all my tax filing needs.
What's great about it: Ease of use allows me to find all my deductions
What's not so great: State requires an additional fee to e-file (Louisiana)
