This is the best program around. Intuit has developed software that enables the most simple-minded individual the ability to prepare their own taxes. In addition, Turbo Tax allows tax preparers and professionals that ability to bypass redundant screens and get right to the heart of the forms.
What's great about it: Easy to Use; clear help definitions and examples; complete program - all forms available
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

1099-R section states if over 701/2 a minimum distribution is required even though payments are received monthly from a government pension. It states that it is uncommon to not have a minimum distribution. This does not apply to government retirement accounts. I don't understand this.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: 1099-R section is confusing

I've been using TurboTax for over 15 yrs. It has never disappointed me. I've gotten my kids hooked on it also. It seems easier to navigate through the different pages now.
What's great about it: Easier to navigate

What's not so great: cost to much for e file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great software as usual but problems persist

Enjoyed using TurboTax for many years now. I don't like entering the Business expenses first then the personal info. Also the software got hung up several times in "Calculating". Entering the Hybrid info and entering the Donations. Had to re-start the program several time then it eventually calculated. Never had this problem before and yest the program was the current version.
What's great about it: Detailed entry and easy to review
What's not so great: Hung up on "Calculating" several times. Had to restart.

I could use some help on some of the K-1 form designations. The K-1 itself is obtuse, so any clarification you could provide on a pop-up window to enable me to make the correct selection of a box description would be most appreciated. Otherwise, you have done a splendid job with this software.
What's great about it: You have stream-lined the entry process and it went smoothly
What's not so great: No cons

Use with caution
on April 4, 2016

Be cautious if you have a Schedule E. TurboTax no longer calculates the percentage of your home you rent. You have to MANUALLY enter the percentage on the form, and then MANUALLY calculate the numbers on the Schedule E. It's a royal pain, and one TurboTax has not fixed for three years.
What's great about it: Makes filing soooo easy!
What's not so great: Doesn't always work properly.

Began and ended online

Adequate but becoming expensive. I almost fell for the promotions for IRAs and state electronic filing. My biggest complaint was that my frustration that I had to enter all my data again because it could read only a 2014 tax record (mine was done by a professional) although I had 2007 through 2013 Turbo Tax data available. A couple questions were 'accountant speak' but, in general, the help responses were helpful.
What's great about it: No running to a store for CD
What's not so great: Could not pick up 2013 and earlier Turbo Tax entries
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
