Turbo Tax works fine

Turbo Tax worked fine this year. I think the only problem we had was that for some reason, we continued on the personal income section past the W-2's. Then when we tried to go back, I had to add the address and tax ID number for each W-2 even though they were the same from last year. Then it asked me to delete last year's W-2's. Other than this the program was fine and we have a fairly complicated situation.
What's great about it: Nothing confusing, help menus were helpful.
What's not so great: At one point we had some problems putting in W-2's.

Assumes You Know More

While TurboTax covers all the bases, it is sometimes difficult to uncover Schedule A items that you may not even know apply to you. If you don't select the items and read every one of the dialogue boxes, you will miss some very important opportunities. In other words, they know more about taxes than I do, but I'm not sure what applies. TurboTax used to query me more...and pull out of me the data that applies...now it assumes I know which path to go down.
What's great about it: Quick, snappy pages for each request for information
What's not so great: Hard to uncover what you don't know with Schedule A

Efficiently done Taxes

Excellent, but getting back and forth isn't easy once you've completed a section.
What's great about it: Accuracy, walking through
What's not so great: Entering or changing data when I need to go back

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now and have been happy with how easy the programming walks you through the questions. However this year we experienced a glitch where my daughters W2's figures were doubled and the lesson learned was to always preview your return before you push send. It was a simple return and we didn't think it necessary to review it and the program somehow doubled the amounts. It was frustrating because we had to wait then to amend the return. Lesson learned read before you push send!
What's great about it: staff readily trys to help answer questions
What's not so great: We had problems with amounts doubled on W2 entries

Turbotax 2016 Home and Business

Once you've used Turbo Tax it's easiest to keep on. Next year should need just Premier (small savings). My returns are somewhat complicated so still required about 12 hrs.
What's great about it: correlates with prior returns; comprehensive
What's not so great: some hassles with K-1's; but have done them before
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Tax filing made easy!

Well organized and very simple to use. I would add one more module to further simplify and clarify review queries. This module should immediately display the original data or form in question in a separate window that can just be closed when the data are corrected.
What's great about it: simple and concise
What's not so great: needs one-click recall to display original data during review process
