Starting over on my own was never easier

I was divorced 2 years ago and so this is my second year having to do my taxes on my own. Over 40 and starting over and having to learn something like "how to do my own taxes" was very scary, but TurboTax really did make it simple. Thank you for holding my hand as I learned that it doesn't have to be overwhelming to do taxes and that I'm capable of doing it without hiring a professional.

Used TurboTax for Years

Question on installment sale and one on mortgage interest need clarification on difference. I duplicated the interest received and only caught it because I reviewed the printed form prior to transmitting.
What's great about it: Easy. Love the carry forward and comparison features.
What's not so great: Duplication error in questions concerning mortgage interest received.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've used Turbo Tax for years. Having a small business as well as a full-time job as an employee, Home and Business helps to keep it all straight.
What's great about it: Deducting my moving expenses was super easy
What's not so great: It just takes time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Not as good as previous years

I have used Turbo Tax for over 15 years with no issues but this year I was ready to throw in the towel. Their online help was not helpful. I had problems entering tuition payments and medical expenses. The program would show the spinner like it was processing but never completed. I would have to hit back, exit out of program, which also was problematic and reboot computer. After much frustration I went online and found numerous complaints about issues with Apple which is the exact platform I was running on. UGHHHHHHHH. My day job is in software QA and I think Turbo Tax needs to re-evaluate their QA.
What's great about it: Easy to install
What's not so great: Program not responsive at times

Good but ran into a couple of problems

It seemed more solid with fewer issues than years back, but I ran into a couple of issues:
1. I could not e-file the Form 568 for the State of CA even though it was the home and business version. I was told I could do this in the full busines version, but that one would not do a single-member LLC
2. The program stalled and would not let me proceed or go back when trying to purchase the audit defense

I trust TurboTax with my taxes

TurboTax has earned my trust.
What's great about it: Both Federal & State were easy.
What's not so great: Had to call support to help with 2nd state return.

Quick and Easy

Overall a very easy way to fill out your taxes. And it is even easier if you use it year in and year out with the auto fill option.
What's great about it: Easy to answer questions make it very quick to fill out
What's not so great: Still a couple questions on state return that were confusing
