Convenient & Easy Process

This is a program that takes the hassle out of tax processing, anyone can use it if you have the time and all your tax documents are available. Just make sure all your numbers are correct because what you put in is what the program will use. I have been using it for more than five years and it works for me. If you are worried of privacy or confidentiality of your information, this program can help because you do it yourself without going to an outside tax agency. I highly recommend Turbo tax.
What's great about it: Use friendly, fast and checks for error
What's not so great: Expensive software but worth it

Repeat User's Evaluation of 2015 Tax program

When deciding how much mileage I was allowed to use for my jewelry business, it seemed like it allowed me way too much expense for this. I only had one sale as my mother was ill during 2015 so I put my business on hold. The question asked about my commuting miles. I have a career outside of my jewelry business where I commute 80 miles round trip daily. I think the program assumed those commuting miles were for the jewelry business. It wasn't clear if it was asking about commuting miles for a job outside of the jewelry business or not. The question followed asking about personal use of the vehicle.
What's great about it: User friendly, detailed to get maximum credits and allowable expenses
What's not so great: One area on Schedule C not clear

Another year taxes done simple

I love TurboTax. Every year I use it to file my taxes. In 2015 I started my own business and I was unsure how TurboTax would work for me and my scenario. I was not disappointed at all. TurboTax made it easy for me to not only do my taxes, but do them correctly.
What's great about it: business expenses and income tools
What's not so great: repetetive questions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbotax Makes the Grade

I've used TurboTax since its inception. It is the best and most accurate platform for self-service tax preparation.
What's great about it: Detailed and accurate
What's not so great: Requires at least some knowledge of tax situations

So easy it's difficult

If you're a novice, Turbo Tax is great because you really can file your taxes and not know what you're doing. BUT, if you're pretty good at taxes, there are some things you might not like. For instance, if you need to change your answer to a question, it's not easy to find the screen where you answered it. For example, I forgot to indicate that my 401K withdrawal had a basis for my state return. I wan't able to figure out how to go directly to the screen I needed, and had to page through the entire retirement topic in order to fix it. Also I didn't find the help feature to be very helpful. To me it seems like they've made the user interface a little too thick, so it's really hard to verify what's actually going on behind the scenes. Also, I tried the online version and found it to be very unwieldy and also very expensive - so I used the desktop version. Online, you don't know how much it's going to cost until you've filled out the entire return, and it's gets pricey if you have anything that's a little unusual, such as foreign tax credit . Before it will give you a price TurboTax needs to see everything that's involved in your return. And, you have to pay to file online, while you get free federal filing with the desktop version.
What's great about it: It knows the rules
What's not so great: Too hard to get at the data

Can't Find Things

I was unable to go back and find "cars for business use" information.
It was also difficult to find an "office in the home".

2015 Turbo Tax Home & Business

My biggest complaint is that their were a number of software glitches. Given the complexity of taxes and changes that take place, this is to be expected.
However, I feel that Turbo Tax should be proactive about notifying (registered) users of the software when fundamental issues such as the software (a) is currently incapable of saving; and (b) cannot finish its own calculations are in play.
Now in both cases, fixes were forthcoming and they appear to be viable. However, this cost me significant time when I had to re-enter all tax data -- after searching through the Q&A chat material, discovering that these problems were already apparent, and waiting for the update fixes.
TurboTax should take some responsibility and be proactive with such fundamental errors. If nothing else, upon startup, a warning

In all fairness, I should note that I have been using TurboTax for at least 6 years and prior to this year nothing like these noted "issues" had come up. In the past, small glitches or the need to wait for some updates occurred, but nothing on the scale of this year's difficulties.
What's great about it: Generally easy to use as long as records are in good shape

Use of Turbo Tax

I have used TurboTax for over 10 years. Great software would recommend it to anyone. Great interface with printing and submitting information to IRS and State Tax agencies
What's great about it: Questions are easy to answer. Transfer of data from one year to next is a big plus
What's not so great: Sometime have to go into forms to add certain information like prepayments to next years tax return
