A few minor bugs

There are some minor bugs and things that should work better, for example:
In many of the password boxes, you cannot copy a password from the clipboard. I use a password manager; therefore, I have to type a long complex password by hand into these boxes.
The pop up boxes to authorize credit cards have very small type, and the program hung up several times after entering credit card info.
The federal review checks couldn't properly handle a 1099-B transaction where the basis was not reported to the IRS, form 8949, Part II, Box E.
The back button during the filing process takes you back too far, usually more than one screen, to the start of the eflile transaction.
What's great about it: Does taxes well
What's not so great: There are some minor bugs and things that could work better.

Where have all the printouts gone-Some are missing

Every year I have had missing forms when I print out the final returns. The program does not duplicate the Federal forms and State forms correctly in the individual return sections to be sent to the respective tax agencies.
A review of the PDF file that is generated shows that there are missing forms. This necessitates sorting each return, flagging the missing forms (noticed by finding them in another Fed/State filing package), locate the pages to be copied to supplant the missing information, making the copies, then reorganizing the returns. Finally, reviewing all returns to be filed to ensure that you have all the forms that TurboTax SHOULD have provided in the initial PDF file.
What's great about it: Relatively easy, decent guidance
What's not so great: Difficult to navigate with multiple business and personal forms

Great as usual

I have been using Turbo tax for many years now and recommend it to everyone, haven had a problem and it answers most of my questions. Only 1 year did I need to talk to a real person.
What's great about it: imports from last year and moves along nicely

The interview and the final review by reading the forms provides me with surety at the accuracy of the return.
What's great about it: I have always liked the clarity of explanations as I proceed through the return.
What's not so great: There has never been a downside to Turbotax in the 20 years I haave used it.

I got stuck in a "do loop" for a long time with the program saying I needed to provide K-1 Partnership info even though I had entered no K-1's. It was pulling data from 2 years back. Even as I finally deleted the old data, I had to do it twice before it quit asking me for EIN information and letting me E-file. Frustrating. Also, I would like to see a breakdown of self employed taxes to Know what went to FICA - Employer and FICA - Empolyee, same with Medicare, so I can make sure it is properly reflected on my Social Security Contributions reports. Being self employed for the first time, I'm concerned this won't be recorded properly by the IRS.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Paid twice the price to have the "Business" portion
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Need to be better at handling a K-1

Turbo tax is a good product but however it lags when handling a K-1 with multiple entries on line 1 thru line 3. It says when you have amounts on these, handle them as separate K-1's. Then it leaves you to guess how to do it. Split all the numbers in half?? You end up guessing at a lot of stuff and hoping it is right. Grade is a D- when it comes to K-1's with multiple entries on lines 1 thru 3 which most K-1's have!!
What's great about it: Overall good except for K-1's

Makes it easy to do my taxes

I have been using Turbo Tax for about 8 yrs and have been very happy with it. I did try H & R Block software one year but immediately went back to Turbo at my first opportunity. The software is very user friendly, most people who are still afraid of the IRS would be very surprised at how easy it is to do the vast majority od tax returns. Unless you have some very complex issues you don't need to pay someone to do your taxes for you when Turbo Tax is so reasonably priced.
What's great about it: It walks you through all income and deduction options.
What's not so great: Was disappointed that some Colorado forms wouldn't print out. Had to print out a blank form and complete by hand.
