Easy To Use

When I printed the returns to review with my husband, I got all the pages needed for mailing both returns, i.e. two copies of the Federal. It should be easier to print just the two returns before submitting, especially since I planned to e-file both returns after our review.
What's great about it: Able to go back and forth to review & make changes
What's not so great: Printing for review

Makes sense of Obamacare tax issues

Easy to use in simple steps that makes you confident as you go through the process.
What's great about it: Very thorough and easy to understand
What's not so great: Each time you open the return you have to go over things done
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Continues to Perform

may want to consider having different modes.. this normal mode for beginner and intermediate Turbo users and an advanced mode where users can MORE EASILY input data within form fields.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: little clunky when editing data via forms

I have used TurboTax for ten years. It has always worked well for me. The one year i used an accountant, he had nothing to offer me over what I had been doing on TurboTax

TuroTax weak on NOL

I have been using TT since 2004 and there have always been some things that seem to have become more difficult as time has gone on. One is that married filing jointly I have to manually divide the business entries to get the even split between my wife and I TT used to do this calculation with the push of a button.
Likewise TT used to automatically calculate the Net operating losses and enter them appropriately. Now it asks me what they are when TT has all the previous tax information and could easily calculate this. I buy the software because I don't want to become an accountant or a tax specialist. I spent hours reading publications to figure out how to do this correctly. I expect more in this area the software needs to do the work not the customer.(me)

I felt this year's TurboTax was more difficult

I had a couple of issues this year where forms were not filled out completely by my simply answering questions. I often had to go to the actual form, and fill in additional information. For example, I purchased a new home during the year and my home office changed locations as a result. I had to manually put in the amount of deduction attributed to each house. The first round of doing the taxes did not give me an option to fill in my 1095-A, which messed up my taxes. Finally I was able to speak with someone in person who told me to delete the form and worksheet and start that portion over, which worked. I think my taxes are beginning to be too complicated for TurboTax.
What's great about it: Generally it's easy
What's not so great: When you have a problem, it's difficult to resolve

What's not so great: when I was going through each section of deductions, it returned to the top of the list not where I was.
