Turbo Tax Easy to use!

It was easy to use, with step by step guidance. Love the new ID feature that helps combat fraudulent filings. Way to go Turbo Tax! You Rock!

Love TurboTax

I use TurboTax every year and love how easy it is to do my taxes. I'm even a CPA, but I rely on TurboTax to make sure it's correct with no errors! I love the e-filing capability too!
What's great about it: So easy!

Frustrated at times

This is the first year in all the years I've been using TT that I experienced this very frustrating issue. I always periodically "save" along the process and, of course, prior to exiting.
In the past, TT would re-open exactly where I had left it so that I could continue on with working on my taxes. But not this year. This year it re-opens at the start of a section, even though I may have been partially, or almost completely, done with that section. I was then forced to hit the "continue" button to navigate myself back to where I had left off. And unless I saved a screen shot or made a written note of exactly where that was, then I had to sort-of re-review each step to figure out where my last entry & update was. Just freaking irritating. One night I was up until past 2am because I didn't want to have to do this again so forced myself to stay awake to get through that entire section. I hope TT corrects this before next year.

Getting more expensive & less reliable

Managed to get thru another year's returns, but TurboTax does not make it easy anymore. Repeated instances of the app hanging - spinning beachball with "Calculating totals..." message - this is quite distressing! The first couple times I had to Force Quit, and lost much of the data I had been entering. Then I found I could actually do a "Save" - even tho the app seems unresponsive, it actually saved changes & then allowed me to quit. So next time I started up I could "Continue where I left off" without problems (until the next hang, that is...). BTW, same behavior on my friend's iMac, both running OS X 10.10.5.
What's great about it: Has forms I need
What's not so great: Buggy, increasingly expensive

2015 Tax Return

I have been using TurboTax for over 20-years and have been very happy.
What's great about it: Simple straight forward step-by-step approach
What's not so great: Preparing and paying taxes. However, TurboTax is great

Appreciated alternative

Overall, a pretty good package. Allows for more privacy, support, and ease in filing basic filing status.
What's great about it: Info transfers between forms, and return documents
What's not so great: Purchasing additional forms was a challenge

Good product; getting expensive

Very comprehensive program. Covers all the tax situations I need. The state parts are getting too expensive--if you need more than one state, you need to buy the extra state(s) and they aren't cheap. Then, if you want to e-file your state return, and don't live in a free e-file state, that's additional fees that keep going up.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
