What's great about it: very detail step by step process and good support services
What's not so great: all federal forms weren't included and had to go with manual process to load them since check updates didn't load them

Longtime TurboTax User WORRIED ...

Tried to transfer TurboTax 2014 information this year to another computer because my old one is no longer supported, but could not get it done so stayed with old computer. Now I read that next year I will HAVE to get a new computer AND transfer the prior records somehow OR work without them... which makes TurboTax pretty useless!!! Apparently, another choice will be to download from online TurboTax since the CD I usually buy will NOT work in my old Windows XP computer any more.
I am very worried about this!!! Until now I have been very happy with TurboTax...
What's great about it: User Friendly... for the most part
What's not so great: Could Not Transfer Records to Newer Computer!!!

Gets Easier to Use Every Year!

I've used both the Individual and Schedule C for self-employment every year for over 12 years. I used a CPA in the past, but why spend the extra money when the filer still has to collect the backup documentation. TurboTax fits my needs perfectly and helps me understand the ever changing tax laws.
What's great about it: Very intuitive, anticipates questions
What's not so great: none
Pros: I bought or sold investments

When turbotax pre-filled entries, the values were not always fully explained. Added confusion when 2015 values had to be edited.
overall very good.

hard to do corrections or just open an extra form when needed, especially when inputting information and not step by step.
found that the State forms did not update, had to recheck and make corrections.
seemed harder to use than previous years.

Easier than finding someone to do the return

After using TurboTax for many years I've come to trust the software. All options seem to be covered, including business deductions. I particularly like the link for figuring the value of charitable donations.
What's great about it: Gives great tips and asks great questions and works on a Mac computer.
What's not so great: Doesn't do 1041 for trusts

I've done my own taxes for many years, so I first enter all data myself, in the order I've organized it during the year. Then I have turbotax guide me through the entire process as a double check. This year that double check increased my refund more than $2,000!
What's great about it: Forms exactly like printed versions, calculates intermediate info
