Always Helpful

Have used TurboTax Home and Business for 8 years, Generally easy to use. Hard to use when I don't have the correct information...you think? Had to call one time for help and the representative was most patient with me and walked me through the steps to solve my problem. I'm a true fan of Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Finds deductions I haven't considered
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Fantastic Way To Complete Taxes
on March 28, 2016

Highly recommended. I've used Turbo Tax for the last 10 years and have always been happy with the results.
What's great about it: Easy to use, choice of step-by-step or "do on own"; Transfers previous year. Excellent support assistance (via phone)
What's not so great: Difficult to find some specific fields to edit. i.e. Had difficulties changing state amount to holdover to next year.

applying refund to next year's estimated taxes
on March 28, 2016

Currently the screen that says "how do you want your refund?" only gives you the options of selecting bank account or a check. It would be really helpful for your users if turbo tax would ADD another selection box that will permit your user to select "apply to next year's estimated tax" This way your users would not have to go back to an earlier screen to make this selection.
What's not so great: had to ask the question to find answer re applying refund to next year's estimated taxes

Painful!!!

This has been the most expensive and worst overall experience I have had with Turbo Tax! When you lose an entire day's work nothing can recover.
I have never had a problem with losing my saved work before!
When errors are detected by Turbo Tax, you have to be a private detector to find out what the error is and where it is. This is ridiculous. Another time sync!
There were fields required on the state form for electronic deposit that were never asked in the process of going through all of the options. Leaves me wondering how many other land mines are out there that I did not catch!
What's not so great: Lost all my work after I finished for the day!

I had a much less frustrating time doing my taxes this year. Last year the programming of Turbo Tax was a disaster.
What's great about it: Easier to use, less confusing instructions
What's not so great: don't see any right now
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

business vs personal medical fees
on March 28, 2016
Posted by: SEBOD
The recommendation from Turbotax was to deduct my insurance premiums as a business, not as a personal expense. However when I tried, I found that it deducted twice. There was no way to fix the problem within the program. I had to redo my taxes from the beginning, this time not including the medical insurance within the personal section. This needs fixing.
