Excellent support

I will continue to use Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: I had a very complicated tax year, dislike doing my taxes because I don't feel competent. Turbo Tax guided me through.
What's not so great: Added charges for submission.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

Why Pay Accounts when you can DIY with Turbo!

Transfer of previous tax year data

I transferred my data from last year. But when I reviewed the info for my nondeductible IRA basis for my wife and I, the data did not carry over from last year. I had to enter it manually, from last year's TT printout!. Which makes me wonder what other data, like investment carryovers, were also missed. This is one of the main reasons I use TurboTax. If it not going to keep track of carryovers...it probably is not worth it.
What's great about it: Saves alot of typing
What's not so great: Misses some really critical stuff!

Excellent Software But.....

Have used this software for several years and have been pleased with it. I have used turbotax software on a macbook pro for several years without any problems, but this year I was surprised when software would lock up in a calculation and need to be shut down and restarted before continuing.
Downloading from Fidelity worked perfectly and saves a lot of time as well as reducing chances for errors. I plan to use this software again next year.....hopefully the bugs will be fixed.
What's great about it: Easy to use and thorough
What's not so great: Software would lock up and need to be shut down and restarted.

Using a MacBook Pro, TurboTax Home/Business, the calculation frequently went forever until I forced it out. Poor program.
What's not so great: infinite calculation until I force it out several times.

TurboTax 2015

I've used TurboTax for close to 20 years to file taxes for me, my Son and his wife, my parents, and my Daughter. I have always found it to be very user friendly from start to transmission of the final package. This year, (first time) I downloaded TurboTax vs. purchasing the product on hard media. This worked great - I was up and running in less that 10 minutes (after software updates). However, many times during data entry the software would show 'calculating' with the spinning icon, and would never finalized the calc. At that point I had to click the 'back' key, then save the data already entered, then had to quit TurboTax completely and restart. I couldn't close the opened tax sheet or go forward with any additional data input. This happened on each of the different tax filings I worked on for family. There was never any indication prior to the lock up. I am using an Apple MacBook Pro. After quitting and restarting TurboTax, I was returned to the screen that previously failed and was able to successfully make the entries and move forward - until the next lock up. Overall, even with the problems, I am very satisfied with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Have used TurboTax for years. It is the best of the tax services available.
What's not so great: For the first time ever, TurboTax locked up my computer over 13 times during data input.
