H&R BLOCK DID A REVIEW AND FOUND NO ERRORS

The prep went smoothly but there is no info on expenses for household employees expenses of housing provided as a condition of employment. It is very clear that housing and travel provided as a condition of employment is not taxable income but there is no provision for maintenance expenses or upkeep.
What's great about it: W2 PRPAIRED
What's not so great: NO TAX ADVISOR FOR IRS INFO

What's great about it: All good. Help feature used successfully.
What's not so great: Had to add business version to do estate K-1's.

I am using turbotax since 2012 and never had a problem with my tax returns. Before that I was doing it manually by getting forms and instructions from the local library. It took me days to complete the return. With TurboTax it is a matter of hours, just get all your necessary forms (W2, 1099, etc) and you'll file the return very quick. I highly recommend everybody to use this program.
What's great about it: Easy to use, very confident in results, multiple options to try the return
What's not so great: No obvious where to enter the IRS PI PIN

Love the Program but hate the filing FEES!

Overall this is a great program for filing taxes. I did have one hiccup and that was the State of Ga has a code now for Credit Carryforwards and I could not find anything on it in Turbo Tax. Also the filing fee went up. Don't like that.
What's great about it: Ease of tax preparation
What's not so great: Price hike on state tax filing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Thats about all i have for now.
What's great about it: ease of access to MOST parts of the app.
What's not so great: I had to go back several times to get the e-file sent and still didnt get the state to file.

Better Every Year

Fantastic overall but did have two issues.
I had already printed my state estimate forms and then it said I couldn't take advantage of the $50 political contribution tax credit if I made over a certain amount. So because of that small amount removed all the numbers were wrong and I had to reprint all the vouchers. Seems like it could have told me not to enter that in the first place, as my income was already in.
Another issue is that when I tried to download info about a second business from Quicken it proceeded to download from all the accounts. It should have asked me which accounts to get the info from. I had to stop it and do it all manually for that second business.
What's great about it: Downloads from financial institutions
What's not so great: Doesn't calculate Simple IRA matching Contributions for the employer. A couple issues slowed me down.
