Turbotax Does it for me Again

I've used turbotax for many years. I love that it imports previous year information so you aren't retyping everything. Interview questions make sure you don't miss anything that could cause you trouble or cost your money.
What's great about it: Interview questions make sure you don't miss things
What's not so great: I had trouble paying to e-file my state tax return

Using Turbo Tax for 30 years now!!

I've been using Turbo Tax for 30+ years and have really put a lot of faith in this wonderful product. I remember the days when I would file taxes on my old DOS (What's DOS?) computer back in the 80s. The format and queries have much improved. I can file my taxes with confidence in knowing everything was checked and covered.

What's great about it: Quick, Easy, Explanative and with Confidence
What's not so great: Too many things to click to complete. Annoying fees that appear at filing time.

Easier than ever

I haven't used Turbo tax for a while; instead used a CPA, but he got quite expensive, so I tried Turbo Tax again. It has been improved a lot in the intervening years. I compared this year's return to my previous year and Turbo Tax actually got us a deduction the accountant missed!
What's great about it: Easier to use, good explanations.

calculation lockup

turbo tax is just ok. special situations can be difficult to manage unless you know tax law. i question if i get the best tax advice with turbo tax. i really wonder how aggressive the software is. it is not something i will brag about but for some reason i keep using it.
What's great about it: transfer of last year info. leads you through everything
What's not so great: locked up continually calculating. getting help a challenge and cumbersome.

I've used TurboTax for years and it gets better all the time. I especially like the 2 year comparisons on my Schedule C business, Schedule E rentals and of course, the 1040 return.

Best product in industry

Because of foreign acct and foreign tax credit issues, I have unusually difficult return. TT is the best product on the mkt, but there are still issues that almost require expert advice to get through.
One example is that the sequence of pages on Form 1116 indicates Special Instructions must be followed in some cases. The Special Instructions do NOT include the fact that you must first go back and delete any 1099-DIV that would have been created if you automatically downloaded your brokerage transactions thru TT.

What's great about it: Great product, EXCELLENT support
What's not so great: Notwithstanding the overall excellence, there is always a glitch that requires that I phone support.
