State Schedule T was not linked. Very difficult.

Overall much easier than manual preparation and cheaper than professional preparer.
What's great about it: Easy to fill out and follow topics
What's not so great: The State of WI Schedule T was not linked. I t required manual preparation.

State Error That couldn't be Fixed

I've used Turbo Tax for many years and it has always worked get. This year however the North Carolina tax calculator reported an error that could couldn't find or correct and I had to file only federal return and mail my state return. The Blog to fix it didn't work either.
What's great about it: Excellent process to get you thru your taxes
What's not so great: The state section has errors and I had to file with out it.

What's great about it: Ease of entering data, and it walks and guides you through the complete process.
What's not so great: I never like having to purchase on line to e-file my state report. This should be included in the price.

Fantastic product

I have used TurboTax for three years and am very pleased with the thoroughness and accuracy of the software, especially when considering price. Also I like the fact that the return preparer can use very detailed help to "walk through" filing a return or skip unnecessary steps and choose only applicable sections. This a big plus and makes the program useful for all levels of expertise/experience.
What's great about it: Software is comprehensive, updated frequently, easy to use, and reasonably priced
What's not so great: Wish price would include state e-file for at least one return

OK but long over due for over haul

Adequate piece of software but needs overhaul to bring up to 21st century. Annoying in that it asks for updates and takes a ong time on each entry. Annoying that it doesn't come back to same point after save.
What's great about it: quick efficient
What's not so great: Annoying with answering same questions several times

The 2015 Home and Business was actually easier and fast for me than previous years. Part of that is because I have a fair amount of experience with the software.
I also liked seeing a comparison of all the numbers with those for the previous year: since there are seven years worth on my computer, it would be nice to see more: I knew our income was smaller, I didn't realize how much.

What's great about it: I liked the way H&B allowed me to enter the taxable amount of my pension. This is an improvement.
What's not so great: I have no idea what the RMD of our retirement account means. The answers I checked, however, produced a correct result.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Ride Share Woes

Some of my problems may have stemmed from using Windows XP, but I have a hard time going through the front door to buy the Audit Defense. This was also the first time I had to use the business version because of driving Ride Share last year. I wish I knew, even now, if it would have made a difference if certain forms were filed as personal or business. I'm guessing Turbo Tax assumes that people who are filing business may be a little more savvy, but I am not.
What's great about it: Better than H&R Block
What's not so great: A little buggy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
