Turbotax

Still a great tax prep product, simple to use and easy to understand.
Performance problems:
Had to bounce the app and my computer several times when it started clocking.
Unable to purchase Audit Defense with a credit card. You lost that sale.
Still doesn't interface to Quickbooks on a Mac. Absurd.
What's great about it: Covers most tax situations simply and well
What's not so great: DOESN'T INTERFACE TO QUICKBOOKS ON MAC
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Good tax Product

I have used TurboTax for several years and love the convenience that I have of having last years return pulled up automatically saving a lot of time entering information. Able to print all worksheets along with pertinent information easily.
What's great about it: Detailed---covers everything----easy to follow
What's not so great: Lots of questions if you are just filing a short form but if you need to file a business or long form it is great.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Makes a bad chore easy

This is the 10th year I have used TurboTax. The only problem I have ever had was last year I paid by e-file as usual and found out the hard way it had not been sent. I will be careful to watch for my IRS notification to come by text and email. It is easy to use and easy to save for transfer for the next years TurboTax experience.
What's great about it: Easy to use, can get an answer to all questions
What's not so great: I have not found any

GOOD BUT COULD BE BETTER

This is my only complaint. Didn't transfer all of the data into 2015 from 2014. i had to pull up my 2014 return and manually enter some information into 2015.
What's great about it: RELQTIVELY EASY TO USE IN STEP BY STEP MODE
What's not so great: DIDN'T TRANSFER ALL OF 2014 DATA INTO 2016

I liked how the program gives you the opportunity to review all areas of the tax return. It is comprehensive. I did not feel the program was clear on how to update 1099 INT and DIV amounts for 2015 from the same payers that were on the 2014 return.
What's great about it: the program reviews all portions of the tax return
What's not so great: it wasn't clear how to update information in 2015 for areas reported in 2014
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
