Why do it any other way?

The program is so easy to use, is so thorough, and has so much tax information available at your fingertips, I just do not know why someone would NOT use this software to do taxes. I have used the software for YEARS, and could not be more satisfied.
What's great about it: Reliable, Thorough, Easy, Fast
What's not so great: State Tax Filing Fee

PA state tax comments
on March 25, 2016

It was not clear that you had to edit the PA tax docs, and I almost missed it. It is also not clear what is going on in two areas. First, it is not made clear how the PA 529 plan works. Second, it is not made clear what is going on regarding retirement income, which is not taxed in PA, but which still exists. It states zero income in your online pages, and only later does it show that the program knows that there was such income. This is quite confusing.

Summary
on March 25, 2016

Every once in a while, there will be a "summary screen" and this can be misleading. For example, it will say California Tax Liability ...but... that includes not only the CA tax liability from the tax return but also CA SDI (State disability insurance) that was withheld in the W-2. I would encourage you to add some detail to the summary screens so that customers know what they are looking at.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: summary screens

with this yrs. program too many overrides had to be made. forms related to foreign interest were circular....at no point was the amount of interest "requested" credit for foreign tax paid was impossible; had to be dropped...
What's not so great: MORE CRANKY THAN PRIOR YEARS

Luckily for me as my taxes become more complicated, Turbo Tax becomes easier to navigate. Have tried other tax programs but always return to Turbo Tax. Otherwise could only do this with a paid accountant.
What's great about it: Navigation simplified and easier to understand
What's not so great: State filing price a little high
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

I like how it's laid out but probably will not buy it again will stick with something that's cheaper to file state like taxact.
What's not so great: on how expensive it is to file state it's cheaper to use taxact.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
