2015 taxes

Worksheet for calculating 2016 Estimated Tax was not as smooth as I remember previous years.
What's great about it: generally quite easy to use
What's not so great: Estimated Tax for 2016
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great Program

I am a small business owner and use the "Home and Business" to do my return. My return is complex, I'm sure not as much as others, but I don't think I could do it without TurboTax.
I had a problem e-filing but I was able to talk to a lady at the support group. She was able to walk me through it and fix my glitch in just a few minutes.
What's great about it: Thorough, makes a complex return easy.
What's not so great: Had a little trouble with e-filing.

Program Frequently Locked Up

I've been using TurboTax for many years. I had more trouble with the software this year than all prior years combined.
What's great about it: Familiarity
What's not so great: Program frequently locked up or stopped responding

i have done turbo tax for years..LOVE and feel si smart....a bit more complicated when retired and home biz...perhaps tax laws got more complicated but this year was the MOST confusing and i got stuck on a few areas ...had to constantly look at last years forms and try to decipher why major differences in this year’s forms.....But love that it fixes the errors and files electronically .......just pray i entered all correct ...I’ve trusted and been good for years ....so hopefully this year is all great too!!!
What's great about it: reviews and “fix errors"
What's not so great: hard to understand some things missing or not input when comparing to last years

Excellent as usual...easy

There were two places to put income for 1099-Misc which was confusing when filing Schedule C; one on "Income" and the other under the Schedule C. Could have accidently put the income twice had I not been alert.
What's great about it: Accurate
What's not so great: A little more difficult to navigate this year.

Not quite what it should be

By singular complaint is that although well advertised as capable, the local client version will not allow efiling of an extension. The system takes you through the process but it wants to file a full return and not an extension. The only way to do is to print the Form 4856 and mail it.
What's great about it: Seems to ask all the right questions
What's not so great: Easy to go down rabbit holes with questions irrelevant to the return; cannot efile Extensions

this product sucks

After over 15 years using TurboTax Deluxe with positive attitude toward the product, Intuit changed to a more expensive and less user friendly Home and Business, This is my second and last year using Home and Business. It is just too frustrating and time consuming.
What's great about it: Can use my computer
What's not so great: difficult to use, doesn't update, extremely time consumsing
