Over all I'm pleased, however, some questions being asked could be explained a little more before an answer is required.
What's great about it: Good format
What's not so great: Need more info with regards to what can be deducted for safety officer insurance from pensions.

I own a business and have rental property, I find Turbo Tax is easy to use. If I went to a tax accountant, I'd still have to get all the information together. Once I do that, I might as well fill in the information using Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax makes sure I enter all the information correctly. Been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years and have never had a problem.
What's great about it: Easy to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

CD Version TurboTax 2015
on March 23, 2016
Posted by: Kattttttttttt
I've used Turbo Tax for several years to do my taxes. I usually use the online version. This year I bought the CD. When you finish a section and the software starts to calculate, it gets hung up and won't continue. I had to shut down and restart the software, which was annoying. I got them done, so that is the most important thing.
What's great about it: Very easy to use.
What's not so great: Software hangs up doing calculations.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not Good with Filling Out Injured Spouse Form
on March 23, 2016
Posted by: squeakyred
Each year I have to fill out the injured spouse form and find that TurboTax never does a good job at guiding the user to fill out that one particular form. This year I found it even more confusing. As always, I used TurboTax Home and Business, when I selected the option stating that I need to fill out an innocent or injured spouse form, instead of it guiding me to answer the questions, it told me to manually fill out the innocent spouse form (even though all I needed was the injured spouse form), then it guided me to answer questions for the injured spouse form, but not very effectively. Throughout all other forms, TurboTax gives the user hints and explanations as to how a question should be answered, that is not the case with Injured Spouse form. Also, every year I notice in the Injured Spouse form, there are questions asking for the portion of self-emp tax and self-employment tax that should be allocated to the non-injured spouse. I always struggle with answering those two questions, especially because both me and my spouse have self-employment businesses and the total amounts that TurboTax presents as being reported in the tax return are different and one of the amounts I can never find in the tax return. What is the difference between self-emp tax and self-employment tax? TurboTax should give explanations for those two questions.
What's great about it: Guides the user through almost all questions, deductions, and credits
What's not so great: Injured spouse form not easy to navigate

Not user friendly

This product has several annoying features: 1 - it makes you go back and re-answer questions whenever you go back and fill in an item you skipped. 2 - it does not allow you to enter credit card information directly but requires connecting to your intuit account which it then fails to connect to even though you are using the new password you just reset the account to.
What's great about it: Product covers everything
What's not so great: Makes you repeat questions you have already answered when you go back and fill in a skipped item

TT wants to file a state return for every state I have loaded, not just the ones for which I'm preparing a return. For instance, 'S' a member of my family files federal, Illinois, and Vermont. 'B' another member of my family files federal and New York. When I go to file the returns for 'S', TT wants to file New York as well, even though 'S' has no connection to New York whatever.

Way to go Turbo! You make taxes easy.

I have a fairly complicated return because I have professional income and my wife has an in-home business. Using TurboTax Home and Business, I was able to successfully complete our joint return. For items I could not find or did not understand, I was able to use the search feature to find explanations and guidance, then jump directly to the appropriate form. TurboTax has been getting better to use with each year. Thanks to TurboTax I saved almost $600 this year alone by not going to a professional who probably would have used TurboTax anyway.
What's great about it: Easy to use even if I selected what I wanted to work on.
What's not so great: None.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I had a baby, I moved
