Succesful Return

I purchased the software cd and it was obviously not complete with updates because they occurred after the cd was made. Updating the software was not a great experience, no fault of the agents who tried to help with the process. Next year I will purchase the downloadable software from the website instead of the cd.

TurboTax Home & Business

I have used the regular TurboTax for years. I started a new small business with Teacher Pay Teacher this year and wanted to try filing with TurboTax Home & Business edition. It was helpful and led me step by step. My return is filed. I will definitely use TurboTax Home & Business again next year!
What's great about it: Easy to use for my first time claining a small business. Love the audit check!
What's not so great: A little confused since my small business is not a traditional business.

Could use improvement

I accidently put an incorrect letter from a box on my W-2 that led to a significantly reduced refund. Normally i would put all fault on myself for the typo, however, the typo resulted in an issue with the return for excess social security witheld that is disallowed on the federal return. I feel like that is an error that TurboTax should have caught. I had to file an amended return after the IRS caught the error.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Doesn't really catch all errors

This product is simple to use. Calculations are guaranteed. When completing new or unfamiliar topics, the help section is great! It will take you right where you need to go.
What's great about it: Ease of use, guaranteed calculations, running total of refund or taxes due, help topics
What's not so great: None

Too many updates. Update files are too large for a slow internet connection. In previous years instructions for the program were much better. You no longer have the "Cadillac application". Just like Quicken for Mac your customers will leave when any reasonable alternative arrives.
