TurboTax is a reliable tax preparation software aid that I have used for years and recommend to others for quick, effective and efficient preparation of federal tax returns.
What's great about it: New or different guidance seemed clear.
What's not so great: New or different guidance was cumbersom at times.

Why Turbo Tax

When you have a preparer do you taxes you have to round up and sort all of your information. Its just not that hard to then just answer the questions as they come up in Turbo Tax and do the returns yourself and save the costs of a Tax Preparer. I've found doing my taxes this way is more accurate than when I have had in the past someone else do my taxes. Fewer mistakes.
What's great about it: Guides you to rounding up all of your information. Once you have all your information rounded up its simple to enter.

My Turbo Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax now for many years and I have always liked it. However, at first it was not that easy for me to maneuver back and forth from one section to another. Since then I have noticed, each year, improvements to make it more user friendly. In my opinion, it is now at a point where I think anyone who can operate a computer should, with no problem, do well with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is sooooo easy to work with.
What's not so great: I can't think of a thing I dislike about Turbo Tax.

Over all I have used turbo tax for several years and it has always walked me thru the return.
What's great about it: It walked me thru every phase
What's not so great: it took me over an hour to pay for the california return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I spent over 1 hour on the phone with a Turbo Tax representative while I switched to the Desktop version of Turbo Tax. He was informative, friendly and very helpful. Thanks Larry
What's great about it: After over 10 years of using Turbo Tax, it continues to the absolute best way to file your taxes.
