Still My Favorite

As usual a working bit of software---the only glitch this year and maybe it was something I did. I failed to enter 2015 personal property tax and no flags were raised as I went to submit.
Fortunately I remembered before filing, I just didn't think I would get a 100% accurate rating when I missed this significant sum that was present last year.

What's great about it: Works as advertised
What's not so great: Failed to pick up personal property tax when comparing 2014 and 2015.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Use Turbo Tax or pay too much for less

Frankly, if you were well organized, and had all your documentation together, you could do a very complex tax return in two hours. (Schedule A, B, C, D, capital gains, moving, etc.). It's that easy. Turbo Tax actually found a couple of hundred dollars of deductions I hadn't though of this year.
I would recommend it to anyone it's easy for even anti-accountants to figure out what goes where. Makes the jumble of IRS confusion pretty straightforward...
What's great about it: Easy to use. Questions are very straightforward.
What's not so great: Not sure the Home office standard deduction works right when you move mid-year and have 1 office at a time in two places

For pepole who doesn't know anything about tax

I have my own business and do not have a lawyer or accountant. Also, I don't know anything about tax, and don't even understand advanced English. It explains everything in plain English, so I don't have to know anything. All I need to do is follow the step by step instruction.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Could be too meticulous for people who know well about tax.

Transferred operating systems during tax season.

I had a rough start with turbo tax this year since it would not import the previous years returns. Then my windows laptop crashed and I went and purchased a mac operating system. I had to call and request a new download and Turbo Tax was very nice about my computer problems. Yea. Off i go completing my taxes.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I would like to know how I survived before Turbo Tax. I think it must have been very difficult. Taxes are pleasant and not a chore. I'm a committed turbo tax user for life.
